    The problem....

...is, Joyce, when you copy and post someone else's words....then confirm that what they wrote is how you feel.....then those words become yours also.

    See the problem here?

You aren't alone in wishing that things were hunky dorry and that everyone (racers and promoters) alike could exist without strife and miscontent. I believe that most people would like nothing better than to be able to race every weekend, problem-free with no worries and that they and everyone else was going to get treated fairly by the track management. Likewise, I'm sure the track owners and promoters would like to expect that the racers would just blindly understand that they are trying their best to both entertain the fans and treat all the racers fair and justly.

    See the problem here?

Maybe this (racing) is one of those scenarios where an outside, un-interested, third-party arbitrator is needed to settle things so that each side is guaranteed a fair shake and both sides' concerns and issues are given equal consideration and when a decision is reached it is implemented and tried for a set period of time. Then in a couple of years it goes back to the table and re-evaluated.

Sounds a lot like divorce proceedings, doesn't it?

But I'll tell ya, Joyce. I can sum it up in a few short sentences if you are interested. Not too wordy. Not too complex.

    1) Racing is a business for the track owners. Nothing more. Nothing less. Perhaps a business that deals with a sport that they love/like but a business nonetheless. That has been a party line of theirs for years on this board and others like it. Okay. So treat it like a business. Good businesses will, from time to time, query their customers for input into what they can do to make their product more appealing. Good businesses try their best to accomodate these suggestions and are constantly trying to hone their product into something that the consumer will want to purchase. How many successful businesses use the slogan, "The Customer Is Always Right".
    2) Given this, the customer has certain rules and regs to follow to be able to enjoy the product that the business owner has for sale. When these rules are broken the punishment has to be firm and enforced fairly and consistently. That sends a message of equality and non favoritism that will earn the respect of the racers and fans alike.
    3) Keep the dialogue open. Accessibility is the key.

There ya go. Plain and simple.

    Now.

Do you see the problem here?

      What Problem?

      GEEZ OJ

You sure put it in simple words....almost everyone should be able to understand that.

This is an never-ending topic that I never bother to get involved in... been hearing it for years and will continue doing so for another hundred years or so.

If people wanted to change, they would have a long time ago... humans don't like change (to do it or to have it done).

Like this popular saying goes - "It is what it is"....

Nothing is going to change... new people come into the picture and have this grand idea they can change or help the situation - well "God Bless Them" for they not know.

Another saying (while I am feeling bright). " If you continue doing what you have always done - you will get what you have always gotten". (don't see any chance for change there).

I'll put this topic back in someone's capable hands (I love to see results, but not waiting by the door).
