Todd , i'm not trying to spend Roberts money for him , i'm trying to understand how it makes any sense NOT to fix the place correctly .

fixing it requires spending Robert's money, so, yes you are. also known as "opportunity cost" for him.

there is, of course, a blindingly obvious, no cost solution to the rain issue for every track in Florida.

run your season from September to May.

WHAT? You know you are right. It is Roberts Harts track. But it is everyones concern that races at that track. We all want a decent place to race, some asphalt and some DIRT, and it gets tiresome to get called off every week because it looked like it may rain a little. But hey, ya'll are right. There are a lot of us that read this and think it does'nt make sense, but we don't race there anyway. But as far as the rainy season, Dude, you been in Tenn. too much. It rains and is hot here well into Sep and Oct. But best of luck with the game plan that you have. Keep looking out for those Groups and businesses that Rick spoke of. Hope those guys can drive racecars cause the real racers are going to go elsewhere. They're gonna race, if it's at your facility or someone elses is up to you guys. Good luck OSW.

With the rain that fell there last night, this week probably doesn't look too good either... Man, those were some intense storms... Wild stuff - little tornados, 2 inch hail... and when I left work it was raining so hard I could barely see the hood of my K-Car... and the sun was shining!!!

I started going to OSW in the 80's, 82-83 maybe and remember the weepers and also remember racing in the weepers starting in 91.

If Clyde didn't care why should Robert.

It can be fixed but not easily or inexpensive due to the wall design and material use to back the wall when the track was built, Ive seen a section dug up in the 90's.

How about little lake bithlo down in turn 2...........i landed in it one night after a wreck and the water was in my floorboard. I haven't been there in years so i don't know if that is fixed.

Todd has a great idea.........it's funny, my dad and I were talking about this just this afternoon.

Why not take June, July and August off at OSW. THey could still have the July Crash a Rama. OSW is located right where the two sea breezes collide on a regular basis. Yes the weepers are bad but it is usually the thunderstorm that pops up at 4 or 5 o clock and drenches the place.

I also think that racing in December January and February would help the car counts. Most tracks aren't racing so they might be able to draw more cars.

The most important part of this equation would be to race on SATURDAY AFTERNOONS!!!!!!!!Open the gates at Noon and start racing at 2:00 or 2:30. Should be done right around the time it starts to get cold for us Floridians.
It could work because college football is over in November or the first week of December anyway.

                hey Roger, thanks you dink.

i'm going to be working late tomorrow so i either swap my OSW wheels on tonight or i don't go. if you hadn't scared em off, they'd call the race tonight and i wouldn't have to waste my time.

errr, wait, this has to be my fault somehow. you guys get to work on that and let me know where i went wrong.

since we're going all out how about building a giant dome over the track.

I say they should line the wall with tires make everybody run treaded tires and declair it a rain race like they do in scca

the track doesnt have to build a dome
the fans(all 12 of them) get to see some races
and the racers get to whine about the extra expense of raintires

it looks like a win-win for everybody

I quit fishing because there was no one handing out money at the docks when i got back. Why did you quit racing?
