Got to saunter over to see the guys in turn two... got a cold, yet very good pork chop before I had to head back, then ran into Jerry carrying his "prizes" back and even got to say hi to him...
The reason it takes very little time to get races started/restarted at VSP is the use of the RaceCeiver radios... It is so much easier to tell the driver where they are in the line-up rather than wave a finger or point a flag at them... They are also a great safety innovation... The drivers instantly know a caution or red flag is out and where on the track the problem is... Also if they have a problem like a flat or dragging bodywork...
VSP was the place to be... Can you believe? They had 34 Late Models (actually less than expected) - New Smyrna had 33 cars total in the pits! Why is that so? Is it really cheaper to go dirt track racing?
