I was not trying to talk down, was simply explaining what I said. But my comment was you choose to look at it in a positive way or not. But I agree with you I should simply state the info and stay away from that part.
My apologies if that is what it seemed like.
    Thanks

I think the treaded tire deal is good and should drawl some cars that might not have come. I can tell you for a fact that the treaded tires last longer and as they wear down they get faster. The fact that you buy a set and run it one time would be no different then buying a set of slicks but if you run Goodyears or American Racers can take then to CCMP,Citrus or Auburndale and run them again. As far as buying 2 sets of tires I don't understand that but everyone is different. When FASCAR went to treaded last year I just change tires went to NSS and adjusted from what I normally ran there and made some minor changes and hit the track for the feature. I then took the same tires that a raced to races with last year to Bronson this year and used them to practice on I put about 80 laps on them during practice and then let another driver use them for practice so between the 2 races at NSS and practice at Bronson between me and another driver the tires had about 150 laps and are still able to be run again and yes they were still fast. I know some don't like the treaded tires for whatever reason but we all know that it's hard to keep up with the ones that can buy new slicks every race. I know there are exceptions to that rule but for the most part it's true. I would like to see everyone come out and support this race and I think a lot of people are working hard to make it a good race and it was ashame to see it go away so let's show some support or there might not be anymore.

You CANNOT please everyone all the time no matter what you are doing. It does no one any good to argue. Rick is trying very hard to help Orlando and he is doing a good job trying. So Rick, just state the facts of the race and let it go at that. I see alot of promoters trying very hard to make their tracks work because they don't want to be a parking lot or mall or storage buildings. We have lost alot of good tracks to just that.

Keep trying Rick and if you ever need help, just let me know. I may not be at Orlando anymore but that does not mean that I don't care about her either. I would hate to see her go away and be something else.

The race is in the middle of June, how much more warning do you want? I think 6 weeks is ample time.

I have 1 rt side treaded Goodyear that you can have if it helps. It has less then 70 green flag laps on it with a sportsman stored inside and still soft.

I want to see is if the big dogs with the big motors show up. 66, 15, 89, 4,

Rick, What if you only buy 4 tires and you get a flat. Will you be allowed to put a slick on? Is there going to be a durometer/hardness rule? What about cutting/camber cutting of tires?

You do not cut these treaded tires. I have never ran a modified, but I can tell you that the treaded tire does make it harder to hook up those big horsepower motors. A zz4 has been wearing them out in the open wheel mods at Auburndale and he has also ran great at Citrus and Charlotte County. I think this a great idea and an attempt to keep the class affordable. The treaded tire does not fall off as much as the slick and it will last longer.

LOL Here we go. You ask the tracks to work with the racers and they do then some jump on the track. I can tell you right now that the treaded tire last way more longer then a slick. You will spend way less on tires running these as to slicks. Rick I give you credit for this move. It is a line of bull with what I am hearing. 2 sets of tires? WHY? He is making a move to try to make it better for the racers. Good job Rick.

I think its an awesome idea. I also think that its your big motor guys that will complain the most or not show. They already know that its gonna take a little more set up and driver skill. Look what happened to some of the OSW sportsman guys at Nss when they ran grooved tires. Its a whole different ball game when the horse power is equalized.

I can see where the guys that race these tracks now are coming from. Why should they change to treaded tires for 1 race and it is one of their biggest races. We were actually looking forward to running there to race on slicks so we can actually race a modified like it is meant to be run fast and open. We will be there either way but you can't jump on these guys for wanting to stay on slicks because they will be a little behind the eight ball as setup goes but then again I haven't run treads over there so I'll be learning as well. Just my thoughts.

for those that don't know as much as they think they do

you can get plenty of power out of 358 cubic inch and a crate motor all you got to do is spend some money . and some of the other ones big bore short stroke spend some money
