Stan from East bay and Jean lynch in negoations with John from Desoto Super Speedway to turn Desoto into the premier high bank dirt track for 09, look out east bay Winter Nationals at Desoto.

Wow can you believe this, what a show place the South's Fastest Dirt Track. It looks like tracks going to dirt to survive no tire cost ect,ect.

Has anyone have Stanelys phone number to see if this is correct, called Desoto and John will not comment.

Its a well known fact that desoto is for sale and also if you have been around racing very long kolan formerly of eastbay wanted to buy it several years ago. Rumor has it that kolan has had his people seriously looking for a track.

We all know John wants out . We all know he hasn't done much of a job of running the track for the last few years . We all know hes too thin skinned to take criticism for his running of the track . Someone comes along with the right amount of money and John will sell instantly .

I am all for it!!!!! Stan did a great job when he was at Eastbay. Stan is sprint car fan and that works out great for us sprint car guys. We need a dirt track closer to the SW Fl. area. Just look at the car counts, fans, etc. that Ocala has gotten. Dirt racing is where it is at.


Just my view, I still run asphalt and really enjoy racing at CCMP. But....my heart is with the dirt.

That's over 60% of their schedule this year.

That's true and East Bay is only 45 minutes north of DSS.

TBARA is on a downward spiral. Its a real shame. There just isnt the buzz there used to be about them.

Any official news yet on Desoto's future? John said at the banquet that an annoucement would be made in February.

I do believe at the banquet he said he was making an announcement opening night Feb 14th

Does not have to be a fast track, has to be an entertaining track. If you want to do something, and not have all of your racers go to the expenses of getting other car to fit dirt, just turn it into a smaller track, like a quarter of fifth mile. Excitement & entertainment bring people to Saturday Night Racing, not speed. And merge classes into a maximum of 4 full field classes. If the average fan cannot tell two class apart, you have one too many.
