    In case you missed my post a while back, facebook isn't a big deal. In fact, it's yesterday's news for most young people and for the technology savvy. The world has moved on to instagram and snapchat. But you don't don't have to be a facebook member to read facebook sites. Just type into search whatever site you're looking for. For instance, type in citrus county speedway and track facebook, or 4-17 southern speedway facebook, and you'll go right to their facebook page. Facebook will try to block you from reading the page because facebook just can't help themselves, but simply click on not now and continue reading.
    I agree that Florida tracks should be using every possible marketing opportunity, but every site is available if you just look for it.
    Facebook isn't good advertising because I have to go searching for the information. Advertising is when the information comes to me.

    Some suggestions - TV, Radio, E-mail distribution lists, newspaper, popular websites, postal mail brochures? etc..

      No Track has Ever Contacted Me Once to Advertise

      I know I have never been contacted once from a track about paid advertising on the message board. Maybe Rick has, but I don't think so. I didn't even get a call or email about the Jack Smith Memorial Race which I'm quite sure we would have done for free, but that's the track owner and Promoters decision. Kinda sad some tracks will pay Speed51.com for a tiny banner ad halfway down the front page, but not interested enough to contact us to help promote their events. I guess they are happy with the results they are getting now.

        Well Scotty I did have a year long program that had every race of the season on it and a banner fore all the big races.

        now on the other hand who is the salesman and who is the costumer in this case.
        who with this site has the job of sales and have they tried to make a deal with the local tracks.
        I was not a supporter of the bathroom wall board but I did buy adds.
        In your defiance the board is a loot better and most of the members do want to help all the tracks to do better.
        there is not so much bashing and name calling anymore.
        I think that a track should have a presents here.
        It only makes seince. This is ware a lot of ur costmers come to get info
        and if a few bad post bother you sell the track and get ur head out of the sand.

          Anybody in their right mind can be happy with the results I am seeing on nights like this. Here I sit at Showtime tonight ten minutes until start time,late models on the card and the stands are almost empty. If there is 400 people in these stands I'm being very generous.

              I admit I haven't tried in quite a while to contact any of the tracks myself. I was asking such a small amount and never got a response, so it just wasn’t worth my time to create and rotate banner ads. I just find it amazing that race results are posted on the message board, but tracks never try to promote the show PRIOR to the race other than a small post on the message board.

                Is it that the times have changed? I don't think so!!! I have supported the KARNAC message board for over 12 years where I paid the monthly fee for the FASTRUCK Series and Charlotte County Motorsports Park for 3 years. I still feel it is the single most effective means of friendly media out there. Facebook (or any of the newer cyber media's) is a great media. BUT it's not for everyone. I hate that you can't daily (customer friendly)exposure in getting information like:
                1. Up coming Major Events.
                2. Results from races after they have run (ASAP).
                3.Get Teams, Sponsors, Fan, and Track Operators input on items of concern.
                4.Running threads on who coming to the Events.
                5. Specials and discounts to the Events.
                6. FB just seems very distance from the customers (Tracks, Teams,Fans, and Sponsors.
                7. Great stories about the last race events of the Saturday Night Racing.
                8. Get a feeling of HYPE!!!!!

                I can only say everyone knows my passion for our SPORT!!! If we as group don't get our act together the Tracks land value will be worth more going towards WalMarts, Bass Pro Shop, Targets, or anything else other than a Race Track. The Track owners must LOVE this SPORT as much WE do!!!! They must be just hanging on. The ROI (return on investment) is NOT VERY good for Stock Car Racing in Florida.
                KARNAC could be a MAJOR media to help support the quest we all need to get together. That's the Track Owner (or their Promoters), Teams, Sponsors, Touring Series, Ex-Promoters and Ex-Track Owners or Ex-Track Operators!!! EVERYONE mark my words the value of your Racers / your equipment, and Tracks will be history!!!! Let's START working together NOW!!!! Just my two cents.
