Well 11 super lates for a 100 lapper 19 crate motor sportsman for 25 lapper well looks like the crate motor class WINS again oldshool . Kim maybe next year the track should think about more crate classes it's more affordable for the working class guy its the the future for racing it's proven crate motors are working fact .

A Long Evening for the Jim Harris Team at NSS

The Jim Harris team worked diligently right up to the Sportsman Feature preparing two cars for the event.

About midway through the race the yellow #111x was heavily damaged following an altercation involving the right rear quarter panel.

The other car was subsequently retired from the event by track officials.

The great news is although it was reportedly the "hardest hit he had ever taken", driver Danny Frye was okay, although a little worse for wear, and probably will be a little worse yet tomorrow.

Following the event another competitor claimed Patrick's crate motor in the white #111.

Patrick and the Team went to great lengths to make sure the engine was carefully removed, and Patrick informed the new owner of many details regarding the engine.

Throughout a very challenging evening, Patrick remained upbeat and positive.

A true professional and an asset to New Smyrna Speedway.

The DQ was probley for something simple. The71 appears to have been DQ as well. So why only ask about one. Lol. I'm sure Patrick will explain Ashe does and you will all know.

Not picking on Patrick just he's the seams to be be one of the few to drive to the front and win a lot .let hope it was something simple I think last time it was illegal heads earlier in the year which was pretty big . You don't get DQ when someone buys your motor . And the 71 why was he DQ ? Your right Dave .

For some reason you don't want post the facts.

The 111 was DQed for illegal clutch and the 71 was DQed for illegal carb.
lets all take a long ride on a short bus.

I quit fishing because no one was standing at the docks handing out money when i got back, why did you quit racing?

There a simple fix for this make the rules so everybody runs the same brand and part number in this class crate sealed motor only and if your caught with anything different suspend them and take points away this would cause the the class to grow even bigger . Geees it's that simple to fix.

While I am mad the way this whole deal went down, it's my fault, in 3 different ways it could have gone differently. 1, I shouldn't have won the race, I was a 3rd or 4th place car at best. I took advantage of people's mistakes and lucked into a win on the track. 2, I could have been secretive and hid everything I was taking off the claimed motor, but I thought I had nothing to hide, so I pulled the motor out and removed all the parts in plain sight in the tech area with 30 plus people surrounding the area. I should have made sure the clutch disc had no aluminum pieces in it, but I didn't. This motor and clutch combo was used in this car during the 2014 and 2015 season by this team and their former driver. It was wrong, and I'm not blaming anybody but myself, it's my responsibility to know what's on my car. 3, Tech was over and cleared before we had even gotten the motor out of my car, the tech for the night was carbs and weights. People had already been paid in the sportsman class with me officially the winner, but still selling my crate motor because it had gotten claimed. When people started saying my flywheel was illegal, I chose to take the pressure plate, clutch disc, and the flywheel into the tech room for the tech officials to confirm to the growing crowd that it was indeed legal. No tech official asked to see it, I chose to do it to shut people up. Turns out the clutch disk had aluminum in it, my fault, I should have stripped the car to check every nut and bolt to make sure it was legal. But, tech was long over, this was a voluntary submission of parts to be teched. They determined the clutch disc was illegal, I agreed, they then DQed me for an illegal clutch disc, even though tech had long been done. I get it, but I also dont think what they did was correct. It looks bad, if you have a built motor car, they don't have a claim rule, so you won't have to be subjected to tech on every single part that comes off of your claimed motor. While yes, all the parts should be 100% legal, if you don't run a crate motor and get claimed nobody would know. We will fix it, and be back. And I know everybody will call me a cheater, so be it.

Thanks to all my guys for the help, on a very trying night, my personal car got right reared down the straightaway, I had a motor claimed, and got DQed way after tech was over, and nobody lost their composure or did anything, or said anything that they shouldn't have.

It is a time of Memorial.

Many fought for us, and gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we might be free.

But there was The One who sacrificed all so that we may be free forever.

Among many wondrous things, He said "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone...". (John 8:7)

That "one" is not me. Daily I fall short.

And that said, I am proud to be associated with Patrick Thomas and the #111 Team.
