Who is doing all that bashing and slamming?

It seems like it is mostly me, and I had no idea that I was bashing or that you felt so bashed!

    Perhaps you are just bashful?
    lol

It's all been said since before you showed up. I was saying it in 2005 and I'm positive it was said long before that. Bottom line is, exert political pressure. You can single out the track that is guilty and not support that track. The whole late model fiasco I know personally giftwrapped Showtime quite a few extra paying customers. At this point, fans need to get outraged because we aren't talking Fortune 500 companies here, we are talking a small and tight knit niche sport that needs balance and planning.

The fans mostly don't know and those that do...mostly don't care.

Case in point, as I said, I am sympathetic to the cause.

I was too shot to make it this past weekend (still haven't gotten over that...), but if I would have gone, it would have been to Auburndale.

Best show, closest track, th-th-th-that's all, folks.

ps--Am going to the Eddie Brann race if I can possibly make it, regardless of how many other tracks are running modifieds or "banshees of the blacktop", regardless of what NASCAR is doing.

Why? Because I like the track and I know Yoho (& a bottle of rum?) will get a good field of cars, and they will run like it is the last race before the apocalypse.

I don't think you give the fans enough credit there OS. They pay attention more than you may think. For me, I'm about the same to either Showtime or Desoto. You know Showtime is always gonna produce on backbone classes, and that makes a huge difference. Desoto and Auburndale not so much. So you really need a stout 20 plus Super, Mod, or Sprint field to get me to go there and sit through lackluster backbone classes. Build them backbone classes! It's the key to a tracks health.

And in your EddieBrann call, good call. That will be a packed field of Mods.

                Agreed. My soapbox (lol).

Run Hobby Stock (showtime rules). (Late Model) Sportsman, and affordable Modifieds every week.

The fields will grow, the fans will know what will be there, and the fan base will grow.

Then run "big" shows from time to time if you like.

Nerone disagrees. He has promoted 2.5 Million events, I have promoted none...

We are in the land of 27 different classes though, lol.

Yea, but remember...Aub is the track that booked a LM Race over Desoto...which caused this stir.... they could easily have chosen another week. I think Desoto and Showtime are trying to alternate the classes, ie: Supers, Sprints and OWM.... now if Aub would get in the mix... the Bay Area would be just fine...... OSF
Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:

Why is it always Auburndale did this and Auburndale did that? If it's so easy for them to reschedule a race it should be just as easy for Desoto or even Showtime to do it. But the fact is that it's not that easy to do. Ricky Brooks is the ra e director and tech inspector at Auburndale and im pretty sure his schedule is pretty full with all the tracks he works at. So bwith that and Auburndales own schedule to deal with it isnt that easy. Anyone heard of a Sunday race? And Desoto had 11 cars at best so honestly i think they lost that battle with Auburndale. Hell maybe if Desoto keeps banning drivers from there track more cars will show up. I mean we've seen how thats work out so far.

So you are saying Desoto and Showtime should build their schedule around Ricky Brooks? Sounds legit.

Bottom line, nobody won. You had crap fields at both. Everyone lost.

It should be easy enough for each to check in advance.

It is only logical, as in "Gee, let's have a late model event in October...of course we want the most cars that we can get, so first thing--when is everyone else running them?"

So, it is hard for me to think it is coincidence, and it seems like the first guy ought to have theoretical "dibbs".

But again, in the real world, it is all neither here nor there.

BTW, Jessie Dutilly won at Auburndale, Joe Boyd at Desoto.

                            Deserving both.
