My memory is not as good as it used to be, but at one race at Auburndale a few years ago, the supers had around 26+ supers and they all started, it was tight on the track but it was done.
I agree not all of the auburndale cars would have come this past saturday, but at least 3 or 4 may have made it.
Looking at this last weekend, there were 14 and Desoto, 14 at Auburndale and 6 at Citrus.
I agree that the track owners need to work together on scheduling or they just simply need to partner up with another track and promote each other and their schedules. They cannot work by themselves, it only hurts the sport down here.

Again, I agree with the pie in the sky principle.
But the track owners do not have to--and apparently don't.
"In the world of business, I'd normally call brilliant. But in this day and age with short track racing on life support and Rex doing all he can to damage it, I would call him a [person of questionable character]."--Weft
In the "world of business" the move would be strategic to "hurt" your competition. Er, especially from a track owner's perspective, it is business. With money and everything.
So if, say, Citrus, is denigrated, the move was successful.
A couple of things to consider:
>Let's ignore Citrus. Fans at multiple tracks got to see late models, instead of just one.
>Most fans and car owners mostly frequent one track, regardless of what the others are doing. Therefore it is all neither here nor there.
ps--Although I would prefer more cars, 14 can put on a good show. Or not. If there is a fast car up front it does not matter how many cars you have, it is a yawner.Last edited by OldSchool+; 10-12-2015, 08:09 AM.

Broken Record alert... There are too many tracks in a concentrated area trying to run the same exact night. I've been bashed and slammed time and time again for saying it but it's the truth. Maybe people are starting to finally realize how fragile short track racing is and that this will not end well if it continues cause this subject seems to be brought up more and more often. Even the furthest distance between tracks is less than 3 hours. For some of these drivers and fans, the difference in which track they go to could be as simple as going north or south because it's the same distance. It's spreading the small core of drivers and fans in FL to thin. Sadly, it will likely never change. When tracks work together, it only helps everyone. When they go against each other, everyone suffers. I don't care... Tell me I am wrong and I have no idea what I am talking about. I'm use to it. But I hope to god I never have to tell anyone I told you so.

Who is doing all that bashing and slamming?
It seems like it is mostly me, and I had no idea that I was bashing or that you felt so bashed!
Perhaps you are just bashful?
