I assume you're sputtering about supposed freedoms you've lost. All you've listed is some annoyances.
While Veterans are most certainly not getting what they deserve, nor have they ever, that's also not losing a freedom, they're being screwed by their elected officials in Congress not appropriating funds.
Do you mean those enlightened northeastern liberal elites who are generally all prejudiced and bigoted against ALL southerners ? As always you are wrong again,,,2/3 of the country today believe that a Confederate flag flown today simply represents regional pride, not hate or racism....And that was a from a liberal MSN pole.
MATT must be a confederataphobe...
The liberal elites ( by the way, the word elite means best ) are prejudiced against prejudiced, bigoted southerners? Yeah, they are. So is everybody else.
2/3 of the country believes no such thing.
But in an interesting twist, does anyone remember the great right wing meltdown over the mosque being built a few blocks from ground zero in New York City. Was it their right to build it anywhere they wanted? Sure. Was it an affront to people that directly experienced the horror of 9/11. Not purposely, but sure.
It was only a mosque, but it represented something that many people felt was wrong.
In May 1968 I was sent to Vietnam served there until July 69. We were told that we were fighting for the right of South Vietnam to be free. 2.7 million of us served there.
1. The average age of a VN vet is 65-66
2. 2/3 of the VN vets have passed away at a too early age.
3. What the hell were we really fighting for while over there was to stay alive and keep our buddies a live.
4. What we were suppose to be fighting for was to keep S.VN free, have the right to live their lives free.
5. Now I and people like me and some of you are losing your rights, yet they say that we who fought in wars were making and keeping America free. Esp. for people like Matt Albee. People can fly any flag they want to or even burn the US Flag because of people that fought for their and your rights.
6. Last week a man from the state of LA went to a Walmart, ordered a cake with a confederate flag. Was told no. To prove a point he ordered a cake with a ISIS flag on it. They made it. Walmart says that the employee did not know what a ISIS flag means. Are Walmart employees that dumb, that out of touch with the news.
7. If it was not for the present wars you would never hear anything about VN vets. If you are not a VN vet how many do you know one that served there or hear one talk about it.
8. Enjoy the 4th of the July and for now the rights that you have, next year what you believe in could be looked at as a hate crime or loss.
9. Matt Albee one day you will lose something you feel was a right that you sure have, maybe just coffee, transfat on french fries diet coke or the amount you can buy at a time or you can't hunt on fish were your family took you as a kid because the government put it off limits. Don't come crying to us because I will tell you that that right wasn't meaningful.
10. "For those who have fought for it, freedom has a taste the protected will never know."
Now that's true perspective, people feeling the overwhelming need to spend even 1 minute of their life defending a tv show ( a pretty poor one at that ) from decades ago. Not much else going on in the world i guess.

WHAT?????? There might be a time that i can't have all the trans fats i want, whenever i want them? You're saying there might come a time when i have to find a new fishing spot? I might even face losing diet coke??????? Buddy, when that day comes, if it comes, you'll find me on the front lines, a cup of bacon fat in one hand and a 44 oz. diet coke in the other, defending my right to be dumb as a box of rocks.
Thank you for defending the South Vietnamese. If you didn't, my daughter and her beautiful mom might not be in my life.
Or in her words....
Cam on nhieu cho su dau tranh cho Mien nam Viet Nam. Neu ma ban da o, thi co le ho se o co trong cuoc doi cua toi.
In other news, I am so sorry to inform you all that Mexican Daniel Suarez just qualified on the pole for the Xfinity Series race at Daytona.you all must be horrified hearing that damn accent in the pole interview. Send his illegal ass back to Mexico!
Today whilst stumbling around in the close vicinity of the track, I was at a flea mkt nearby and race fans were having T-shirts specially printed up with the (censored) Flag--they said they were going to the races at Daytona and they wanted to be sure to look their best.
Racer6x--Am fairly sure that "yeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaawwwww" is still okay, especially if Daisy Duke is close by.

Not for nothin, but whenever a storyteller feels the need to begin with " this is a true story " it likely isn't. Or the storyteller is letting you know this one is different from his usual ones.
