All kidding aside (is that possible?), Yoho has built that place into what it is. Unlike a lot of the pretenders that have gotten in over their heads Yoho put his money where his mouth is and has a nice track with a good payout and better than average car counts. Is he perfect? No, none of us are (human trait). I will tell you this, and not to slam anyone, but 3PS, OSW, Citrus and Bronson would all be doing much better if they had implied the "Yoho Business Model". Just sayin'...

True he is in a perfect spot to draw a good crowd. But whether you like his style or not he does ENTERTAIN that crowd. He might not get as big a crowd in a less populus area but he has awesome car counts in his lower classes (backbone low purse) and better than most car counts in the big divisions and location really doesn't have as much impact in regard to that. It's the affordability of his lower classes and the payout for the big dogs that draw the cars. Besides, how can you argue that his shtick wouldn't go over just as well if not better in Beethlo, Archer or Inverness?????

The big problem is that Yoho is only one dude and can only be in one place at a time.
He is at once a racer, animated, in charge, and has a hard line of justice in him--hard, but justice nonetheless.
Move that, and St Pete may suffer.
Re Bithlo: I dunno Scott, in my heart I am pessimistic, just from a lifetime of watching West Coast vs Orlando racing.
It is like "up North"--I maintain it is easier up there due to the money, but more to a tradition of racing families on both sides of the track just being steeped in racing for generations.
They are stronger and a larger crowd of racers, and that is kind of that...
To put it another way, fire up a late model with 180 degree headers at a shopping mall parking lot, unannounced, summer or winter, up north or in Orlando, and rap the throttle a few times. Now count the number of guys that send their wives into the mall by themselves while they find the source of the noise.Last edited by OldSchool+; 06-22-2015, 12:51 PM.

The location would greatly vary his overall success (thought I said that). However if you take Yoho and he did what he did in St Pete and transplant him then Citrus, Osw or Punta Gorda would be open and with double the car count and triple the fan base that any of the current or recently former operators ever enjoyed.

Agreed, but what would become of St Pete?
If we only have one Robert, I prefer him at St Pete.
On the other hand, Robert and Citrus, or Robert and OSW on a Friday night, and you might just have something there.
But between his business and the demands of the racetrack, plus the stress of cone-watching, I suspect he is already stretched pretty thin.

I get that it is all hypothetical.
To your point, it is hard to replicate Yoho's success. I would suggest that it is for sure money and location and effort, but there is the crazy-driven Yoho-factor that is, IMO, the largest part of the success, and there is still only one Robert.
But since Yoho hisself reportedly has stated interest in other venues, it is a logical thing to speculate upon.
And if I am now only a lap down I am catching up, brau!Last edited by OldSchool+; 06-22-2015, 04:36 PM.

Thanks Doug. Good to see you out there again. Wasn't expecting it to be a Super, but if it has wheels, a racer will race it. And all things considered, it wasn't a bad race for 10 cars. I've seen a lot worse. I really came for the Street Stock race anyway. That was a good race. Always cheering on the B&E cars.
