Well, Hitler was iconic too for what that's worth, lol. I'm pretty sure you are right OS. Yoho would get out of it what he wanted to. He marches to his own drum. Taking my my money is no problem, I recieved something in return for it. No regrets.

Still, "There is a carnival atmosphere here at Showtime Speedway tonight..." might have been a little more eloquent.

      But, your call.

Bobby D has the "Winged Warriors of the Asphalt" (or similar), not "The Bozos of the Blacktop!" for instance.

Regardless, glad you had a good time. Due to other obligations, I did not get to a racetrack last evening...

Well, I think this issue is this. "Bozo's of Blacktop" insinuates that the drivers are "Bozo's". By "Clown Show", I am more referencing Yoho's antics, running around with seemingly no organization, getting up in the window of cars and berating drivers, insistence on a silly cone rule which is fine, but not when you give it only 1 shot. Hey, I'll give it to ya, some people seem to like it. Some people swear by it. It's just not my deal. I like a professionally run and consistent race program. Not complete and total mayhem. But again, I grew up in that racing environment, and my personal preference isn't always the preference of others in the Jerry Springer style environment that America has become. It is what it is, I just offer my thoughts and I'm ok with people not sharing my view.

Again, interesting how folks can see the same thing differently.

IMO, Showtime is run like racetracks used to be run. When I was growing up, "Rosebud" Flowers, starter at Orlando Speedway, doubled as the track bouncer and pulled apart the participants in almost weekly out-of-the-car altercations. My understanding was that Rosebud was once a boxer.

IMO, as far as short tracks go, he is professional. All judgements are quick and final, and the "got the call right" ratio is probably higher than in NASCAR.

And, they didn't rain out, did they...?

But, as you say, it is also cool if you don't share my view.

I think it's just the difference of north vs south in that respect. Drivers up north knew better. Much more wild west atmosphere. As for weather, I'm not sure what role Yoho had in that. Perhaps he is involved with HAARP weather modification. Beats me.

It starts by not calling it on Thursday...

I mean, I guess? Who called it this week on Thursday?

Inverness & Orlando! (re: thurs--an exaggeration for theoretically humorous effect)

I will have to give credit to New Smyrna though, it was pretty nasty for quite a while in that area and they got their show in.

Inverness isn't racing at the moment so there was nothing to cancel, and isn't Orlando just drifting now? I wouldn't even consider Orlando as a racetrack anymore. It's been dead for many years.

                      Yes, that is the...point.

He took a "done and gone" facility and turned it into one of the strongest in the state. Standing down the rain is just a small part of it.

And no "kumbaya", largely Yoho per se is making it happen.

It ebbs and flows. A major component is location. No other track in the state has such a condensed population to draw from. That counts more than you realize. Put him at another track and see how that works out. Plus he has the drag strip to subsidize oval operations.

                          If you

don't like the clown show stay home.........I watched that race track sit idle while they tested sunpass equipment for 8 years.......Me and a whole lot of other people are glad to have our track back.........Yoho may be a lot of things but he is a racer at heart. And he really doesn't care what others think. he loves the fact that the cone thing got all blown up. he laughs and says yep there talking about it. he may like to hear himself on that microphone of his but who gives a crap........I heard people in the stands laughing Saturday night. He never cuts purses and has paid way more to the racers than any track has done in years.....without us....no show. You can have your opinion and express it but so can I ......

Perfectly nails it, sir. People in the pits and in the stands that "get it" put up with the not-perfect stuff because they understand...
