Just to underline a couple of things here,
The track in Punta Gorda needs a new lease holder, someone who has money ( or access to money ), is willing to spend that money on improving the facilities and purses large enough to bring in full fields of race cars that the fans want to see. Someone who is willing to put in the effort to get that place up and running. Someone who is wiling to spend far more money than is coming thru the injectors for a year or even two. Someone who knows how to run a race track and put on races correctly. Someone who can work with the Airport Authority, as well as the city and the county. And he needs to hire someone who knows how to market the track, and how to bring sponsors on board.
It looks as though the current lease holders have none of those traits.
I remember when that track was running on all 8, and it was a great track.
Anybody have Copes or Critters phone numbers? Only thing is, i'd be very surprised if the Airport Authority can just re-assign the lease when ever they want. The track could be bottled up for another year or two.

As for the racers not receiving what they were owed, well, then that's my mistake. As long as you were paid for the last race, i guess that automatically means everyone was paid every penny they were owed for all of the races run there.
How about some reading comprehension 101? My post says " i seem to recall some racers complaining that they never got money they were owed". How did you come up with that sentence being fact?

Do you "seem to recall" the names of any of these supposed racers? Or is it again another statement that you made that you can't back up?

Nope, i don't recall any names. It's been a few years. But as i said ( and you didn't bother to pay attention to as usual ) we just might hear from some of those racers. Could even hear about banquet money not paid out, slab fees not refunded, etc. I don't know, i didn't race there.
Here's some facts. Bobby and Gary lost the lease on the track. They started out pretty good, got in way over their heads, and the place disintegrated. They left owing money. Their debts were paid by Kevin as far as i know. You're a shill.
Okay, that's all the facts i've got for right now.

we raced our SLM till 2009 there, the first year he had SLMs back we finished 2nd in the points, the 2nd year we finished 6th, anyway in 2009 one night was raining all day, we had a good field of cars there but no crowd, Bobby had a meeting with us and informed us he couldn't pay us, he offered to give us a credit to buy tires, gas, etc he called these Bobby Bucks, most of the drivers who where there would remember this, we did get our moneys worth the next race with the Bobby Bucks, some drivers didn't come back so they did not get any money, so Matt is correct in his statement but that wasn't the whole truth as Bobby did offer to pay us using what we would have been paid as a credit at future races, most of us did agree to this as we raced there regularly, our Bobby Bucks we used for the next 2 races we ran, it worked out fine for us

If one is not well funded, but has the best of intentions, invariably something happens that winds up getting their teat in a wringer, and someone else isn't getting what they thought they were getting ($$).

I believe it has always been thus...Humpy with Bruton's money looked very good, Curtis Turner, not so much.

I don't expect to agree with everyone here but because I don't, I don't necessarily dislike them. They can offer wonderful food for thought...open your mind to some possibilities, ideas and facts that you haven't considered...

It's all about getting a better understanding and look at what's going on, like it or not.
