I don't know that I would want to run Le Mans now, but I would have loved to back in the 70's and 80's. I feel fortunate to have competed and been somewhat sucessful with our own team in the 24 Hours of DaytonaOriginally posted by OldSchool+ View PostIt just clicked for me.

As well you should.
Always wanted to do that, it is a reality and a memory for you!
ps--Joe finished waaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of Kyle Petty (and no doubt made more sense on the radio while he was doing it)!Last edited by OldSchool+; 06-13-2015, 09:11 AM.

But darn it, Danica beat us! I do feel very fortunate to have been able to run it not once but twice. I have to thank my baby brother for that. He could have gotten many top pros to take my place for free, but he knew how much that race meant to me. Not only that, but he allowed me the honor of starting the race in our first try in 2008. There was a crash on the first corner of the first lap and I said to myself, "Oh, Lord, please let me get thru this mess!"Originally posted by OldSchool+ View PostAs well you should.

Live Feed
There is apparently a live feed here:
http://henno.info/
It has two columns of "bitrate" choices (I know not what that means...) but clicking on any of them seems to bring up the race.

Joe, running the Rolex 24 is undescribable. It's one of those events that you just can't put into words. Although we haven't had the opportunity to drive in the event. We were crewmembers for team Orbit. We actually competed against your team in the GT class into 2008. In 2004 Orbit actually won the Rolex 24 GT class and finished 2nd overall amoung all the DP cars with a podium finish.
I used to post a lot of stuff about the Rolex 24 on here. But I would catch a lot of crap about it. Back then Boneman and the rest of the gang thought they were a hottie toddy chauffeur driven exotic cars that didn't bump nd rub or get scratches on them. Now I noticed that after a few of them have attended the event they realized that it's one of the greatest motorsports spectacles on earth. Well at least they finally went to see what all the hoopla was about.
I'm just glad we got to experience it from the Pitside for all those years.

Mr. South, I recall us chatting about that in the past. You are absolutely right, it is an indescribable event to just be a part of. Orbit is a great team. Interestingly, we have become friends with the owner of Orbit, Rodger. We have bought parts from him for our current Porsche, a 2000 GT3R that is upgraded to RSR spec.Joe Jacalone

Yeah, Roger help me out a few months ago. It was Friday night and we were loading the car up to go racing. And we realize we had a shock leaking. I ran over to orbit and Roger was there late that night. He rebuilt the shock for me and got me to the event the next day. They're not doing much racing anymore. But they are doing a lot of club car racing down here at Palm Beach international and that Homestead.
A contractor I used to work for down here sponsored the winning car into thousand four. Every now and then I stop by his office just to check out the trophies and reminisce about the weekend. Those were good times.
