  • Bright House SLM at NSS

Only 13 cars but a few pretty good ones... Point leader Jeff Scofield is not racing, instead his son is running.... No Dutilly or several more that you would think would be here... That's the way it goes nowadays...

    Cars that are here:

    00 - Anthony Cataldi
    07 - Tyler Scofield
    H2 - Brett Holmes
    5 - Daniel Keene, Jr.
    9 - Brad May
    11 - David Rogers
    20 - Anthony Sergi
    26 - Travis Cope
    28 - T. J. Duke
    30 - Noah Cornman
    36 - Tim Russell
    47 - Chris Fontaine
    51 - Michael Atwell

Should be a pretty good race... Other classes: About 12-13 Sportsman and around 10 Modifieds... Bombers still coming in...

Good night so far, bombers put in a great show with numerous passes and repasses and few cautions. Jason Boyd was in another zip code in the mods, made symons and tucker look silly. Sportsman is interesting, Thomas starting near the rear of the field.

I cringe every time I hear the word intermission though...

The Sportsman cars were again the race of the evening at NSS. Patrick Thomas came from near the rear of the field and was within one lap of another win.

Jason Boyd looked very good in modifieds, had lots-o-motor and pulled away. I was again in the Joe Jacalone pit and cooling issues cut Joe's night short.

                Attn: NSS Track Managment

                For your review:

New Smyrna is a fast track. Tonight's event had good cars. Still, the leader led wire to wire. David Rodgers took 80 laps or so to catch the third place car, the leader took 20 to catch two cars racing in the back of the field.

Meanwhile, the crowd is looking at their phones.

For "big" events (non world series) featuring the late models and possibly modifieds, consider twin 30 lap features with a complete invert of lead lap cars for the second race.

If you like, follow that up with a 10 lap six car shootout (or not), maybe dictated by a draw.

Not only would it be more interesting for the fans, but am betting the racers would prefer to, y'know, race with other cars.

                Thank you for your consideration.

I wondered what happened to Joe.

Man, Boyd was all over that car, it came up off the corner faster, rolled the center faster - everything you could think of - it was faster. Wish he could have made it through the gong show - he is always fast.

For the first time in a while - it looked like Rogers had a car capable of getting it done, he was just too far back after the caution and pit road visit. Would have loved to see a cuation towards the end.

Russells car was really sharp - that Orange Metal/Rust color graphic looks really nice. Maybe he will stay in the seat instead of renting it out to rich kids. Though I know $$ make it run.

All the classes that ran tonight had my attention throughout. Good show. I like that bomber division, crazy variety of cars and the old Montes are getting spanked by the buzz bombs.

                    Thx for the reminder.

PS--Add weight to the buzz bombs until parity is reached with the big iron.

                      Got Pork?

pps--Am not much of a pork fan, but a coupla weeks ago had a pulled pork sandwich, which, in addition to their thicker-than-quarter-pounder hamburger, is quite good.

3-4 days later went to Sonny's and also ordered a pulled pork sammich, remembering the race track food. Am here to tell you the New Smyrna sandwich is superior.

things are tough everywhere I guess

wow only 13 cars? yikes! why so low a car count, any body know?
....and the winner started on the pole and led flag to flag? that does not sound very exciting to me

BTW the series point leader didn't even bother to race- what does that say about the series?

                            Scott,

How can a racer's decision reflect on a Series?

If they all stay home due to not being paid (or etc.) that may be one thing, but one racer?

Here are some possible reasons other than the series is at fault:

                            >Blown up?
                            >New Front clip?
                            >Money?
                            >Wife?
                            >Kidney stone?

Jason Boyd sure had that car hooked up and flying. At least that is what I heard, I couldn't see him, LOL. Congrats to to him, good to see him in a car again. I remember when i was racing at NSS in the 90's he was alway up front in the Modifieds. I hope we can get our little bugs solved so we can work on making our car a little faster.
