Most of the tracks did use handycaping in florida for years. I think we used it before they did in the north.
Most of the racers never did figure out how it worked.
East had the best system and we used there rules .
I did use it everyware that I worked
I was there in 92 and started it. I was there for 2 month and when I left they stoped.
Later I was there from 99 to 07 and we used it for a few years but it was gone agin when I left. Also if you won this week next week you started last . This gave the racer the idea he had a chance to win one now and then
Rogers sold some tickets coming from the rear even in a small field.
We had sportsman state championship race every year and every track would help promote the race. great fields. on year we had 54 cars at alburndale.
Any one rember 89 SLM for my first Hooters race at NSS?
Old school racing will still work if you can get the tracks and drivers on the same page.
How about USA racing from 1987 threw 1994 great car counts and all from the local tracks and most of the tracks worked together for the good of racing.
Now it dog eat dog running races on the same night and who can pay more. That is good for the driver. less cars to run aginst and a bigger pay off but the fans get screwed and stop coming..
Agin get your head out of the sand....

What did the "East" system do to set the handicap, Don? I've only seen the money-won-last-three-weeks system (Yankee style, lol). With $ penalties for missing weeks and getting dq'd.
This is a good idea to push. It's an easy way to make racing sexier for the drivers and fans alike and best of all, it doesn't cost anyone one red cent!
