I have every clue a owning a race car.. I come from a racing family... I don't own one.. Nor would I... However... If you are going to come right off and bitch about the payoff, stating... I ain't racing for no trophy.. Then flipping don't! I am busting my ass for these drivers, to get asses in the seats..so they will continue to race stock cars.. And you whine , bitch , and complain non stop. Osw does not have the money to do what you expect, but you all want a track to race at. This show is on a Sunday afternoon, as to not conflict with your big money payout race elsewhere, that you may not even win. Why not show some loyalty to a track that is trying, with no budget. The guy isn't given anything to open those gates...

If you are racing to get rich or earn a few bucks, sell your car and get a real job. This sport ain't gonna make you rich. Oh..... And I am about done with all you Whiny bitches. I sit here, watch what you all have to say... Been totally on your side 100%. I will take my hard earned money.. And spend it elsewhere. When the track is torn down .. And you are all crying, I will buy you some Kleenex.. And maybe a trophy.

kat your own words. it"s a business and unless your drawing in spectators they owe you nothing .what few people do come are there to see the races. so they are drawing people in. and any business has to put effort in I have yet to see them ever put a full race schedule up and stay with it the whole year since taking it over. and you say osw does not have the money to do what the racer want .I don't think its that. they just chose to buy another track up north then to invest in osw . but you know everything right .

Kat, first let me say it's awesome that you have gotten involved in trying to help promote this event. You, my homey Phil and Donnie definitely have your hearts in the right place. I also commend you for being one of the few on here that instead of just running your mouth (keyboard?) and being critical are actually doing something to help the situation. As for the facebook deal, people who don't like the parameters of this event should clam up and just not come. I don't see any problem in Donnie's responses to the Debbie Downers. What's hilarious is the FACT that the payouts for ALL these classes is exactly the same as NSS's weekly payout. I'm thinking this will draw a decent car count. Hopefully fans too (if enough people know about it). On the other hand, Ozzy needs to step up and do more. I noticed from the Facebook photos of the Legends week that the lights are still not working in turn two. Aside from being dangerous that's just a plain embarrassment. Ozzy may not be giving Donnie an adequate budget but the statement "the track has no money" is misleading. Ozzy has enough money to buy an entire motorsports complex in GA but no money to fix one light pole? Give me a f@#%ing break! I have been told that Ozzy doesn't see the value in oval track racing. Well someone needs to take him to Showtime and show him how successful an oval track just outside a major city in FL can be. At the same time he can look over at Showtime's neglected drag strip and see how that kind of racing can fail too when no effort is put in by someone who doesn't appreciate a kind of racing they may not be familiar with. Ironic how Showtime and OSW are so similar in a flip flopped way. Anyway, bottom line is you guys are pouring your hearts into this deal and Ozzy needs to realize he has people who care and make SOME effort. I didn't see where you stated racers should sponsor an event on Facebook like shortrack said but that ain't no kind of soulution assuming you said that. Currently OSW is only hosting blue collar race classes. For guys like us, its enough just to get to the track. The well is dry. I wish you guys put on a very successful event. I will bring a group that day to WATCH and buy some hot dogs and SUDS. I have tried to support OSW when I can the past few years but I won't race there until at least the dangerous lighting situation is fixed. Like y'all, I love OSW (oval) and hope things improve. Bringing in drifting, car shows and other events will help, but until Ozzy steps up a little bit, it will be a tough road to hoe for oval track racing there.

You need to lower your expectations... Ozzie doesn't care about the oval.. His bread and butter is and always will be drag. Stock racing has done nothing for him, so he will do nothing for it. The oval up north is just like our osw.. Does nothing.. But the drags bring it all.

The oval is a technicality that provides him extra parking during special events.n. Donnie is a drifter.. Not a turn left kinda guy.... So why do you expect so much....

What used to be the stock car stomping grounds, is now the occasional guest appearance center for those that refuse to accept reality.

Wanna be taken seriously... Show up each and every time, even if it
Pays a stupid trophy... Prove to the spectators there is worth something to see.. And they will come... Until then.. Your thirty bucks pit pass entry fee is paying the light bill, and when you and your friends state you ain't racing for a trophy... Then there is nothing to see here... So why should I bother coming to watch you.

Hence.. The current situation now at osw.

I go to all tracks. I pay attention to what is going on... But what I see are loyal racers , with loyal fans.. That treat each other like family... They bring their neighbors.... Reserve entire rows for their friends... And cheer on their "driver" even though they think the track owner or promotor is a douche.

What do I see at Orlando? A bunch of Whiney beotches with broken down cars who think they are the next Jeff Gordon. They do nothing to bring more ppl to the track. Just spend their time behind a keyboard complaining. I never see them at the other tracks either.

The ones that I do see show at osw.. Also show at the other tracks when the can... Shit I pass them on the road on 75 on the west coast.. And we are going to different events.. Those are the ones that love to race no matter what. I will go see them race anytime, anywhere.

Jerk, I printed out flyers with my own money, handed them all out, then went and picked up more from Donnie... And I won't be there that weekend!!!!!!!.. It's my mother inlaws 80th birthday. I did it for ppl like you, so you would have a place to race.. But thank you for schooling me on your desire to race, and the fact that I wasted my time trying to help you... The short track driver.. Continue your passion. I sure will never claim to know everything, and I am thankful for ppl like you to educate me. Maybe I will get you a "worlds greatest teacher" trophy, and chuck it at your head. I couldn't possibly miss right?

Yup, I said it.. It was meant more of a put up or shut up..than a serious comment. We were both furiously typing our responses at the same time, so allow me to clarify.

Donnie has not been given a budget for oval track racing...and why should he at this point. Stock car racing there has become a once in awhile thing.. Prolly to keep the permit.

Why fix a light in turn two, when most events held there are during the day now.

Why fix anything when ppl like that will publically post petty shit on Facebook, stating they won't come.. Thus leading the person following the shared link for free admission to see why it is free and say ... Forget it. Let's go see the new Orlando eye. Come on now.

Yup.. Oval racing can be successful. Desoto and showtime are great examples.

Auburndale isn't so bad, but I have my opinions on the family that runs it. My opinion doesn't matter because each time I go, it same ppl in the stands, and they are full. Why...? Because there re drivers they like there. And it is obvious, when they are on their feet cheering or yelling. Passion.

I brought in some out of towners with me to osw during the winternationals for legends. They looked around, and couldn't believe this track did not pack out. The facility is good, few minor fixes needed. As I walked around handing out coupons for free admission in March, the out of towners asked many questions. My response... We are trying, I am just a race fan like you.

The child I bring with me all the time, walked the stands during NSS world series, and handed out flyers with his broken leg...Only 5 ppl gave me back, the rest said..."where is this place". Or .. Cool!!! Shame they will be disappointed.

All 500 plus ppl I work with have received a coupon as well. They are interested as every Monday, the are at my desk asking about which track I've gone to. I work in the automotive industry.

Yesterday, I stayed home. I am so disgusted with this crap, I cleaned the grout on my tile floors instead.

Look, Im no beauty queen, due to health reasons, my ass is seriously big enough everyone can kiss it all at once.

I am on Facebook, my picture is on here.

Ever see me again and have something to say.. Say it. Maybe I will shake your hand and respect your opinion, maybe I will rip your face off....who knows, but it may be worth finding out.

Me!!!!! Cause I didn't have anything to feed my kid. We came straight from work/school. We walked around pit side though.. Got some food from over there. Now we just bring our own..... Who loses there?

Oh yeah. Also. No spectators= no concessions... So back to my original point as to WHY no one comes

                          Kat,

Again, I commend you on your efforts.

Would suggest having no expectations and ignoring the naysayers. Actually, that is kinda how all acts of Grace work...

Thought you weren't coming anyway. I will make you a sandwich to go with your trophy. Plus, If the light was an issue on the 29th... Then you are late to the party anyway. This is a daytime show. Genius.
