hay Patrick this topic was a poll for mods only, we really don't care what we do with are take offs, I throw mine in the garbage,sorry but I don't mean to sound like a dick but I could care less what yu guys what to race on , if yu cant afford the tires then go run a class yu can afford,they call are class modified for a reason,we haul ass and now yu want to slow us down with some bullshit tire cuz hoosier wants to cut production down on how many tires they produce,OK LETS say they go to the new tire whats the new cost 5,10 dollars cheaper they ain't saving us nothing

Hey Doug in case you have not heard or any other OWM drivers. The device Curtis had in his mod and I have in my Super LM . Is now available to buy.
He won the '09 championship,2010 Eddie Brann and many races at citrus Ocala and auburndale with it. I've had it in my Super since 2007 and won plenty. Some drivers from Desoto,Showtime and Citrus have already ordered one. Check it out at http://www.neulineco.com

I personally don't know you but have watched you race. I respect your opinion and that you don't have a unlimited budget. My team works very hard to race and not spend tons of money. We can get two good races on regular shows out of our tires........Because of tire management.....then I give them to someone. On big races I will always try and put new tires on..............but as far as going to super lates ? my $ 7000 built motor will never compare to a $ 25,000 progressive or whatever. At showtime we are close to the speeds that supers run. I couldn't imagine the tire bill let alone the shocks of a super late. I don't think there has been a repeat test on these tires yet and I can tell you they didn't get faster because of the rubber....they got faster because they adjusted the cars to the tire. I remember when we first used the 450/650..........Mod guys changed cams to control the tire..........My biggest issue with the grooved has always been that they are unforgiving..........I had a sportsman at citrus during the transition and they seemed to work ok because of the added 500 lbs.

I just bought some take-off tires over the summer, just to get my Mod back together again since wreck in Ocala 2003 when it was paved. I didn`t race since when some of you guy used to ran grooves tires recently til slick came back. And now, hope F-53 can stay alive for another years. I have a build motor which is 450 hp. and ran great then. I don`t believe in testing tires. weather is count, cooler 1 day and warmer the next. What was the weather all last week. it`s in the 40`s in evening. If they were practice, time in the first 20 laps, they run slower, track is cold, if get more cars or laps, time pick up if they get track warm-up. `that's my opinion` DJ#95

Re: Neuline device.

Back in the early 90's I worked with a Modified team. They had a torque arm with a lot of adjustability built in--and it worked well.

While the Neuline is a beautiful piece, am I missing something or could a racer essentially duplicate it out of tubing and plate?

Tony has a point. The truck, sportsman, etc WANT this tire. Us modified drivers CLEARLY DO NOT. I have never complained about the F53. You can get 2 nights out of them at Showtime. But I run Desoto and I go there knowing I need to buy 4 tires each race due to the higher speeds, rougher track, and older track surface. The only tire I would be ok with Mods changing to would be if Goodyear got back into short track racing, and brought back the white lettered tires, not the yellow ones.

Everyone talks about repeating. That's a 1 day test. Run them for 3 race nites apart on 3 different race tracks. On a 1 day tire test they may not fall off on the same day, but what about over 3 different nites. I'm for staying on the F53 tire!!!! Otherwise it's Moth Ball time again! Or even a sale.

I consider you my friend..........But here is a quick look at some drivers thoughts. I'm sure you will draw cars with that great payout but the tracks have divided the drivers once again with two different tires..........period. I personally cant get on board with those tires........Its a problem.

I'm working on trying to get a modified so I have a question. I heard that Hoosier is no longer gonna be making the F53 tire. Is this why they are changing to the 750 or is it just because the tracks are changing. I would rather the slicks but the other is fine I guess if all tracks are on it. Not a vote because don't have a mod YET. Thanks Stuart VanDevender

Why don't we just go to Lucas oil rules they run a 700 tire at all tracks ant have a set pit gate price for all tracks and maybe we could get a few big races here that would be on tv
