Like Devin said " if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Obviously everybody wants to stay the on F-53 so the tracks need to pay attention to this!!

Slicks
Slicks are the answer for two reasons , first there is no savings for treads new tires are 3 to 4 tenths faster either slicks or treads so you run slicks and even the new guy still can handle decent , where a guy that just moved up a class that's not use to the power on treads is outa control causing wrecks , so just stay with slicks and let's go racing ! Just my thought !

F-53 Deal
Racer70, I just bought some new used tires from Batman over the summer, and I haven`t race those tires just yet, car finished painted and all that before hit the track for a first time. I keep it slick F-53, Aman. I don`t trust airplane tires, they might cut easily by the track surface in between tire groove. that`s my opionion

The 8 Modified will have the F750 used in the test on the car to practice on at the 12-31-14 race at Showtime. He said that anyone that want to try them they are welcome just remember there is not a lot of split in this set.
There will be a new set for you to see and put your hands on (unmounted).

Please don't take this as hijacking your thread, but you guys are contradicting yourselves all over the place. Let's think about this from the modified teams perspective that can't afford to put tires on every race. I have spoke with 3 of the tire tester's of this latest Hoosier to be tested, and all said the same thing. The tire was very stable, and while it was fast when it was new, each of the testers said they ran there fastest laps between laps 60 and 80. It appears to me to be almost as fast as the F 53 but seems to be able to be raced for a longer amount of laps than the F 53. But here is some things that you guys aren't thinking about. You guys say you are just going to buy tires every week anyway, well what if this tire made it where you could get an extra week out of your tire money.
Nobody has an unlimited budget, and if they were as fast 60 to 80 laps into the life of the tire why would you spend the money if you weren't qualifying on the second night. You say your mods are almost as fast as the super late models, and while that's awesome, you need to remember you have stock front spindles, that aren't made to go that fast. The other thing you might want to think about is, right now on the F53 when you are done with your tires you just throw them away, if all the classes on 8" wheels go to the new 750, that gives you a market to recoup some of your tire bill.
If you truly are going to buy tires anyway, wouldn't it be nice to sell your take offs to a sportsman, truck or streetstock guy that can't really afford to buy new tires. Think of it as helping the little guy, but you got the good, "in your opinion" out of the tires, but it kept a guy that couldn't afford to buy new tires that week a chance to race and be competitive.
Also don't take this the wrong way, if you have the money to buy tires every week, and you want to go as fast as the super latemodels, you should just build a superlatemodel. The money it takes to run a top notch modified, is very close to what it takes to run the super.
It sounds to me like you guys are going to be going to the 750, and while I didn't think you should change originally, the fact that the tires repeat and are stable help the racing. I have spoke to 2 promotors, and 3 tech officials at different tracks throughout Florida, and they think this is a change that should be made to try to help the lower classes rebuild car count by making racing more affordable.
Don't hate me for my opinion, don't tell me that I don't have a modified which means I don't have a voice.

If the racer wants to stay on the slick then the track should let them.
Its not a bad tire .
It would not be good for the teams that want to but takeoff tires.
the other class like sportsman might make enough for those guys.
the tire people would like that idea. They would sell more tires.
The only thing about voting is that is the way we got OBMA lol just kidding

The Mods have finally gotten back on a decent tire after years of single file racing and don't think it needs fixed.........Im sorry that the sportsman and trucks still run the dam things. If they shove the grooved down our throats again then we will all have to adapt. I really hope this doesn't happen....Doug Miller # 53
