You're asking 3 separate tracks to COOPERATE? They can't do it here, as much of a shame as that is. The idea is good, I'd love to see it happen... but don't hold your breath.
I am starting with ONE in 2009 and maybe (2) in 2010 but I am a LONG WAY from you. Sorry to hear this news I flagged a Florida Gran Prix for karts at the OLD 1/4 mile and saw some GREAT TQ races at that track. Looks like Florida is trying to beat New Jersey. Jersey is down to (2) TWO race tracks both dirt. Florida has lost St Augustine, Jax, Golden Gate and to many more to count.
The problem is that the people that own the track and or promote want that to be their sole source of income. When times get TIGHT they jump ship OR see $$$$ and the heck with the fans, drivers etc. There are a few that are in it for the reason I will be, I am NUTS and like racing.
I DARE any promoter to pay them self $2.00 per car as their PAY for a nights racing and put everything else into the track, purse and operations. That is what I am doing so that the track will survive and get BETTER.

Where, Old Yeller? Never seen one thing... EVER.

Unless you are possibly talking about a paid advertisement, which I don't look at anyways.

Results and feature stories have NEVER, to my knowledge, been in there. If I'm wrong, I'll gladly apologize, because they do a piss-poor job of covering this sport (I have always hoped they would do better... if they did, I missed it). Even their Nascar articles, written by a woman who obviously knows very little about racing, and who would rather dig up crap about sexual discrimination instead of actual RACING news, are nothing but garbage can liners. I thought Ed Hinton was a hack until this new girl got the job.

I don't know the whole story, but as a commercial real estate professional, I'm most surprised by the fact that anyone is developing anything given the current market conditions. With absorption rates lower than they've ever been and the abundance of inventory that's out there- these guys must know something that everyone else don't or they're just friggin idiots...

Don't think Florida has exclusive rights to racetrack uncooperation. There are 3 asphalt tracks within an hour of Atlanta and a 3 day series would be unthinkable around here as well. The dirt tracks are to be able to put together successive dates among different tracks with pretty good success. It's a well-worn phrase, but "united we stand, divided we fall" has never seemed more appropriate.
