Even with mufflers there's a marked difference.

That is a decent amount of HP for the money, 'cept it be a Ford. gmpartsdirect.com has the 602 for $3600, not enough ponies for full blown OWM, especially at NSS, but they have the 604 for $6200. Brandy damn new! Kids these days don't know how good they have it :-)

lurkin your right about NSS . but at osw they had a few e-mods turning the same times as a big motor car because you don't need a lot of motor there.

I'd go with the Ford. Cheaper, 85 more ponies and you can twist it to 7800 rpm (604 only 6200).

Trying to figure out Leroy's (Bronson) post. Is he trying to say he's going to combine classes and allow pretty much whatever shows up run?

Why wouldn't NSS just run the two classes together anyway? Have two winners, keep separate points etc and keep both classes?

Sounds like Bronson is planning to go it alone. That might be a good idea. LeRoy has apparently already been screwed by Citrus and he isn't even up and running yet. If he really wants to partner with a track, Desoto is the best choice.
The idea of lumping all the cars into one or two classes has been floating around for a long time, maybe Bronson will make it happen.

"I also want you to know that whether we have one class or five, there will be 15-30 cars in each of the regular classes here. Look at it this way….if we had, say, the Pure Stocks as the only regular weekly class at Bronson Speedway, then the Pure Stocks would quickly grow to 20 or 30 or even 40 cars!"--LeRoy @ Bronson

Gents, the way that reads to me is that they are NOT going to have mods & e-mods and so on. I do not see different classes racing together as much as I see a reasonable number of classes with reasonable car count. Good goals to have, IMO.

Most Dirt modifieds in the northeast run mufflers, have been doing so for the past 25 years,,,they seem to be doing quite well.

Correct. It ain't the muffler (or lack therof), it is the RPM, throttle response, and "punch" coming off the corner.

I would suggest that some...enough... fans can tell the difference, that is why the Supers draw more than non, and so on.
