What was the "cause" besides it being a Memorial for Bryan Wescott? Was there a charity that benefitted?

I don't know if any charity benefited , though it would be a nice gesture for Yoho to donate the money he got from forcing the drivers to purchase his gas.
As far as i know, this was a race put on by friends of Bryan Wescott.

Crazy night rain everywhere ,a dust storm ,ice bucket loader challenge, I think they broke the trophy ,leader wrecks, fight at flag stand ,wreck under yellow flag ,pace truck in the way on a restart to top it all off the 30 car gets a bad restart and does not get the bonus on the last lap. Oh fireworks and lots of cold beer. That was fun right there I don't care who you are. Lol

I found this to be an odd question? Does there need to be some kind of "cause" for a track to put on a big race? I am fine with the "cause" being, make money to pay the rent. And make some profit, which a lot of tracks are having a hard time doing.

Anyway, the race was great, lots do side by side racing, and passing. 26 cars, almost all of them drove a real clean race. Looks like they put something down, to make the outside the preferred groove. Great job, I would go back for sure.

I'm glad the rain held off and they got the show in. It was worth the drive and it was for a good cause.
I asked because Matt said "it was for a good cause". I was wondering what that "cause" was. Geez, it's kind of irritating when people comment without reading the whole thread.

And BTW, while I am 100% behind tracks being profitable and viable money makers in order to be viewed as something that is worthwhile for the owners to continue operating, anything said to be "for a good cause" means for a charity, NOT for profit.

I do find it honorable that the friends of Bryan Wescott came together to put on this awesome event to honor the memory of their friend who passed away way too young.

It was posted on Facebook that all shirt sales, ect., were going towards a youth ministry.

You shouldn't have been too confused over what the cause was, it was a memorial for a racer and it said so right in the title of the race.
For a good cause means exactly that. A good cause doesn't have to mean for charity. However, in the future, we'll check with you before we throw these phrases around.

That's good to see. And thanks should certainly go to Jim Fenton for getting the race put on. I'm sure there were others involved too, but i've seen his name attached to to this over and over.

Awesome, so there was a good cause afterall. And a wonderful memorial for Bryan Wescott that was a memorable night. Sounds like everyone (except Nasse and Webster) had a great night. There's no doubt, Yoho knows how to put on a show. AND can someone please get Jim Fenton to help with more big Late Models shows in FL!
