    old school

The same stuff they used at Citrus. One time application made a world of difference....ask anyone who was there at the time........One problem is it must be put in the upper groove only.....If its accessible to the lower groove the bottom guys will move up and try to get their right sides in it......Hence the sweeping line Citrus developed on the bottom.

I have seen something on the outer groove at Showtime, and it seems to help.

Seems like it was referred to a "rosin", whatever that is.

Am guessing the other stuff is better, though? And Robt knows what it is?

Hard to figure him not using it. Maybe he has 2000 pounds of whatever it is that he is using.

As for Showtime, at one show I attended, they announced at it was the same stuff they use on the starting line at NHRA events. Claimed it was costing $500 per LAP to apply it.

Yoho has been known to exaggerate the truth for a better story.... but that's what they told us....!

where are the anti mirror guys...

          ...when they are in front?

Funny, I hardly ever see the guy with the pack bunched behind him simply move over and let the field go by with a wave and a hearty "cherrio, old chaps!".

Seems to me if a guy is ON YOU, and you don't simply move over, you are "blocking". If I were a car owner and my non-mirror driving guy did just that, I would have some serious considerin' to do... (but then, of course, I am not a car owner).

I know Tony Stewart thinks Larson and everyone else that is "blocking" him deserves to be crashed, but I don't see him moving out of the way either.

It's all good, my suggestion would be to let all that go, and just race hard.

If you get parked, and truly feel you have been wronged, well then, it may be time to do or say something.

Hold your line and drive as hard as you can. That's what a racer does. All's fair on the last couple of laps but if you block the bottom and get moved, I can't see how you can complain (unless you get toileted).

As a non mirror guy........leading the race without a mirror is not blocking. as Scott said, hold your line. If the car behind you is faster he will find a way around. If he dumps you that is not finding a way around.

                Thx, guys.

Point is, it is kind of a matter of perspective.

That is why Cale & Donnie both--to this day--believe they were "right".

I agree strongly with the "toileted" remark--great imagery, btw...

I have seen some great races won by inferior cars--Wayne Heckle blocked Dickie Anderson in a modified for perhaps 10-12 laps and there was minimal contact by Dickie--as hitting Wayne simply would push him further ahead.

Have also seen Dickie move (lots of) them out of the way without crashing them, and there is an art to that as well.

To me, that is what racing is all about, but then, I am not paying for nor hanging fenders...

As always, thanks for your perspective, guys.

ps--If you are in second, and you know you cannot get it done on the high side, and the guy in front of you is legitimately "on his line", then you only have two choices.

Follow to second place or get under him.

And if he is decent, although slower, he will not give you room.

Seems like he "looks like" he is blocking to you, and on the other hand, if he is taking a hit, you look like you are "dirty driving" to him.

Nice Pic 77! That's gettin it done by all those guys.

Oldschool, two choices.......kinda. I wouldn't just ride for a 2nd, i would keep trying. If i am at his bumper i am close enough to try.

A little logic, drive in on the outside as hard as you can..........when he moves up to BLOCK you (cough cough) there is now a REASON to move him.

Clearly, "Benny" is one of T Stewart's psuedonyms!
