Incredible.Black eye for Florida racing, black eye for stock car racing as a whole.Jessica Murphy got shafted, and not in a good way.Dorer got shafted.even if you are the mindset that he started it,he still got shafted. And the guy in the white #177 got shafted. Its funny he was the only car left running that could actually run with Scoffield at the end of the race but A-dale is so blind it took twice of Scoffield dumping him at the end and finally they waved a black flag on him AFTER THE RACE TOOK ITS FINAL CHECKER,then Scoffield takes aim on the tail end of Bennetts car as Bruce was going into the backstretch pitgate, narrowly missing it and then turns his wrath on the pit gate worker and swerves towards him entering the pit gate. And all of this is okay Rex? Really?Consider it a blessing you blew a head gasket as it night have saved you your entire car.Jimmy Castlebury 2nd Mario Maresca 3rd,whats the matter Jeff you dont want to fight with senior citizens or is it you knew they didnt have a snowballs chance in hell of outrunning you so you only took out guys that were at least as fast as you.
couldn't agree more. normally I would be upset about motor troubles, but after watching the rest of the race I consider it a blessing in disguise, I know i'm not ready to contend with the leaders, nor do I have the equipment to yet, but the way that night went it really wouldn't matter where you were on the track. Rex was going crazy, but the sad part is it wasn't until his official was threatened, everything else didn't really get the response that it should have. I was told numerous times Jeff wouldn't be allowed back, but after talking to others it sounds like this isn't the 1st time this charade has happened, I was intending on joining FUPS but luckily I wanted to wait and see how it went my 1st night at the track. I think I will go as a spectator a few times before considering bringing my car back. time will tell.

When will people - fans, drivers, car owners, crew, track personnel - give up on supporting the "Rex Guy show"?

Last time I was at Auburndale was 2001. Even when I lived down there, I'm glad I *haven't* been back.

        QUOTE]

As a fan that went to Aub quite ofter, I learned last year to give up on that track and ALL FUPS Races... If anyone looks back at what has happened at that track under Rex... they would see there is no hope for consistancy or fairness.... ain't a gonna happen.... it's a waste of time and money going there.... I've seen big races cut short (because sonny-boy was out of fuel), I've seen a driver get a High-Five from Rex after wrecking another driver on purpose.... not the kind of track I will ever support again.... and FUPS turned into a total joke when they did Anderson wrong last year... Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:

Like the other guys are saying don't go and support this track. been there one time thought it was awful one grove track never been back. the best tracks in fl in my opinion is Nss, desoto and osw is a good track if they ever get it back to where it use to be.

One grove track? Maybe one groove drivers. You can make the outside work. Daniel Webster makes it work just as good as the inside.

Yes I agree. Webster was not there Saturday but I have seen him make numerous passes on the outside for the lead. It is possible

                  2 Groove?

Auburndale is a two groove track...?

Well, If D Webster can get around up there, more power to him.

It used to be a two groove track, and I saw Jimmy Castleberry and I believe Raymond Lovelady take 10 laps to inch by competitors up there. Exciting stuff.

But NOW, you HAVE to hold the lead from the outside at least through 2 and 4 of the first lap to have a chance. Both inside and outside guys know this, and that is why there is so much framming heading into one on the starts, and also (I am guessing) why they do the "cone" thing.

That is, so the second and fourth place (& so on) guys will not be penalized so badly.

It adds to either the a)excitement or b)mayhem (you pick).

                    Another thing from saturday

After the "final" finish of the late model race, they announced Mario Maresca as finishing 3rd as well as having him do the post race interview on track.Lo and behold they have Sozia listed as finishing 3rd and Maresca 4th. What the hell? Are they even sure how this race was scored ?What in the hell is up with that?

"In Rex's" defense!!! Are you kidding me! Scofield almost hit a track worker, when he crashed another car under caution a year ago, and Rex was giving the same guy a high five. A-dale is a great little track, but as long as Rex is the manager, there is no way I could support the place. The lack of any consistency at a-dale is very consistent....how many times do you have to get screwed at a-dale, to not come back. It is one for me!!.........Vince

I'm done also. Even as a fan, I feel screwed every time I go. I can imagine what the guys with $50k racecars feel. It's supposed to be a race, not Crash-A-Rama.

Sad to say, Auburnadale was the first track I ever visited in Fla when I moved here. It was the most god-awful excuse that I'd ever seen to that point (probably 25 tracks in my logbook by then)...... and 34 years later, it might be even WORSE than it was then.

Scared the hell out of me that 'this is how they do it in Florida'..... Thankfully, I ventured to East Bay a few months later, and I was full of hope again.

The worst run track in Florida

I have never seen anything like that ever! I have raced all over this country had a super in that race against my better judgement. Jeff Scofield should have been ask to leave during the drivings meeting . Notice to Jeff , If you ever touch one my cars Hoss , I promise to give you what your looking for! I have two supers and will not tolerate any of that ignorance anymore . Its a shame that they have ruined that track, but its over there and the supers will move on to a decent place to race. This has been going on at Auburndale to long. The fans , drivers , owners that have any class at all we not go back to that mess. A 75,000 dollar race car is not a toy and it damn sure isnt or should not be used as a weapon . Lots of folks are at fault for letting it go on and on and on. Dont waste your time or money on that place or idiots that drive like that. Go somewhere and watch a real race .

I don't blame you at all. If he wants to crash and bash he should be in the 4 cyl bommer class where you have about $500 into a car. Don't worry someone WILL take care of him. I just hope he's not in Toms equipment when it happens!!

                              Wow!

What has racing become in Florida? Central Florida has more track issues than ANYWHERE in the state. Its always Auburndale, Showtime and Citrus with the BS problems for the most part. Jimmy Cope is over the bridge and that's the place to go....or make the drive over to see Kim at NSS.
