  • Harvey Memorial Tonight

Tonight FUPS & Auburndale Speedway will host the 7th Annual Billie Harvey Memorial. Thanks to Jim Chadwick and the Harvey Family this event has become one of the most supported races of the season for the late models. Billie was one of the south Florida racers back in the late 70's early 80's that introduced "stored bought" race cars & engines to the south from such builders as Jr. Handley, Ed Howe, Tom Pistone, Draime, Ray Baker, & Prototype Race Engines. He also competed in ARCA, NASCAR, INDY Car, and DIRT during his career.
Tonight's action will get started with grandstands opening at 5pm., qualifying at 6pm., and racing at 7pm.

"Store Bought Racecars" is what ruined it for the Short Track racer. Not just here, but everywhere. Most race Teams/Racers could not afford to go buy a "Turn Key" car. We built everything!

Holy smokes... It is 230 am when we got home... I was ready to leave at kap85..2 hours into it.

What the heck was the victory at 97 laps and then running the last three. That poor girl!!! Being interviewed as winner only to have it taken away!.

          Strange at best..

We have a good night otherwise.. Just tired..

Summer is here.. Baked in the stands till the sun went down...

You got that right. Major player in the decline, that is a fact.

Boy you said it all right here. Some of my fondest memories was hanging out at small garages, gas stations and even warehouses where the locals built and maintained their 55 thru 64 chevies ford fairlanes and other homebuilt machines that were quite competitive. Prior to Edd Howe the Florida State Championship was always won by a home grown race car. With the advent todays cookie cutter cars many of the differences we see are the result of tricked tires and traction control devices and these are only the things we know about.

How about some details...apparently the race was a joke, and Scofield is a douche bag, so what happened?

Dorer passed scofield for the lead in 1 - 2 and scofield deliberately dumped Dorer in 3 - 4. It was WAY too obvious. 2 mistakes were made by Auburndale officials at this point. For one they did not black flag scofield, and they tried to send Dorer to the back. Auburndale then black flags Dorer because he refuses to go to the rear with 3 to go. After Dorer finally leaves the track ( he drove around the track while officials chased him lol ) the flag man waves the checkered flag calling the race. The running order at this time was # 26 Jessica Murphy, # 24 Bruce? Bennet, and #177 Brandon D. ( Bones ). All the cars line up on the front stretch for interviews and I believe they did interview Jessica Murphy. Rex then comes out to say they are running the last three laps. Well under the extended caution something happened to Jessicas car and she was unable to continue. So it becomes a 3 lap dash in which scofield spins #177 twice! He had no regard for anybody else on the track. Bennet won the race and I'm not sure of the rest. After the race Scofield starts driving like a maniac all around the track almost hitting an official and a car heading into the pits. He got so close to the flag man he knocked the flag out of his hand. Keep in mind he is going full speed while doing this. He is an ass.

I went last night for the 1st time, met a lot of nice people, fans were great....... but when scofield damn near caused a fist fight in the drivers meeting prior to taking the track, and blatantly said he would destroy cars right then his admission money should have been returned he should have been and told to leave. the officials let that go, and every thing else he did tearing everybody's shit up like a 3 yr old throwing a tantrum fit, & risking lives. all awhile whining like a bitch about everything he could. his crew was just as bad..... even bitching about me not wearing gloves...... are you fucking serious!? it wasn't until he aimed for a track official that they even gave 2 shits. a pitiful race at best. after the drivers meeting our goal was to sit and wait it out until he cleared the field out and try to avoid his destruction, unfortunately (or fortunately) under a long ass caution we over heated and blew a head gasket. at least we loaded it all in 1 piece no one else can say that.......

                          So Scott,

Being the high profile racer that you are, you obviously listen in tech when Scofield and Dorer were arguing, but did you listen to the part about all safety eqiuptment must be worn? Driving without gloves, I have 2 words for you, Leroy Porter.
Lastly, Dorer bumped Scofield into the 3rd groove going into 1, he didnt like it and returned the favor going into 3, Dorer started that little game.
I would not expect that you would have seen that being as that was the LEADERS of the race and you are obviously just a field filler!

Dont throw stones at other people when you are breaking rules also......

I wouldn't call that returning the favor. Scofield basically didn't hit the brakes and intentionally turned Dorer around. Scofield also ran Dorer up the track when Dorer was trying to get around on the outside a couple laps before the whole circus started. Can you also try to flip around the incident with the #177 on back to back restarts?

are you kidding me? 1st off , it was my 2nd race EVER, 2nd off who are you? I am a man that stands behind his name on here not some bullshit screen name. My guess is one of the scofield squad since I don't think many people other than that would say anything to back him up. you really want to point fingers at no gloves that can hurt no one but myself, while king scofield risks many peoples lives over his shenanigans?! you are a special kind my friend. and actually I DID see Dorer "bump" him as I was already parked for the night due to a blown head gasket. this bump that we are talking about ....... isn't that the same "bump" that scofield said was acceptable and just part of racing in the drivers meeting? so I guess what you are saying is that he can certainly dish it out, but when HE gets moved by someone faster its time to throw a tantrum fit. I'm sure I'm just the field filling idiot , and I'm sure pretty much every team that was surrounding schofields hauler.... yeah they were all idiots too right? Bottom line he was a hot head that was out to destroy equipment and intentionally put lives at risk, no I'm not a top runner after a whopping 2 races, with an extremely limited budget, find me someone who is........... and don't bother addressing me talking shit again until you can at least put a name with the words you spew.
