are you kidding me? 1st off , it was my 2nd race EVER, 2nd off who are you? I am a man that stands behind his name on here not some bullshit screen name. My guess is one of the scofield squad since I don't think many people other than that would say anything to back him up. you really want to point fingers at no gloves that can hurt no one but myself, while king scofield risks many peoples lives over his shenanigans?! you are a special kind my friend. and actually I DID see Dorer "bump" him as I was already parked for the night due to a blown head gasket. this bump that we are talking about ....... isn't that the same "bump" that scofield said was acceptable and just part of racing in the drivers meeting? so I guess what you are saying is that he can certainly dish it out, but when HE gets moved by someone faster its time to throw a tantrum fit. I'm sure I'm just the field filling idiot , and I'm sure pretty much every team that was surrounding schofields hauler.... yeah they were all idiots too right? Bottom line he was a hot head that was out to destroy equipment and intentionally put lives at risk, no I'm not a top runner after a whopping 2 races, with an extremely limited budget, find me someone who is........... and don't bother addressing me talking shit again until you can at least put a name with the words you spew.
>Last night the judgement calls and the time to execute were...not so great.
>No matter what happens, the guy that is spun goes back? What? And the guy that hits him is put in the back. What?
Auburndale is a one groove track. Used to be two, but isn't anymore. The above "rule" is why I drive right by there on the way to Showtime, usually. It is just unfair and boring.
With a few exceptions, of course, just to further upset people.
>The cone/restart thing was interesting, but I can see that added fuel to the fire.
>All night, Scofield was less aggressive than others, IMO.
>Dorer did not bump him, he pushed him down the front straight and got him sideways. The retaliation was appropriate, IMO.
>I believed them when they "ended" the race at lap 97, although I felt cheated, and headed out, so cannot speak to what happened after that--or what happened in the pits.
As far as I know Gloves are required to be worn in all classes when a racecar is on the track competing at every track. If you even think about going on the track without the mandatory gear, you don't belong on the track, 1,2, or a 1000 races. Just need to shake LeRoy's hand 1 time!

yeah, I get it..... but apparently you are missing the point.... the same guy's crew that put many lives at risk has something to say about me putting my own hands at risk? I find it hard to believe that they gave 2 shits about my safety considering what he was doing. you tell me how not wearing gloves could hurt anyone other than me and ill entertain this conversation further.
I find it funny that on all that happened that night this is what is bothersome to you.
on another note I don't quite understand the train of thought here. it seems like the general census is to run off new guys that don't have backing. "field fillers" and other stupid shit.
if these types of people had it their way you would have how many latemodels at a show? and how long do you think the class would last locally? us newbies, as well as people that just don't have the best equipment help keep this class alive.
to be honest I have a horrible taste in my mouth from the asphalt scene here in Fl. so far, I have met some great people, and I have met a lot of resistance as well. I don't understand the cut throat mentality, it's not sprint cup guys..... this is supposed to be fun.
Leroy Porter was a great driver, and he did suffer serious injury, but that is neither here nor there.
Annnnnnnnd if the "rules" say gloves, then they do, but as usual it is all about what the officials decide at the time and if they let you run, then you are "legal", and that is that.
Other thoughts for your review:
--Unless Scofield whapped your car, I would let that go just as I would suggest the glove-gate types let your deal go.
--All the racers I have worked with were pretty serious types. We have "fun" with my four lane slot track, late models are a different deal. No biggie--and I hope you have fun, but the rest of the competitors will be what they will be.
Don't lose the faith, man. You are on the track, and...I am not. It's a once in a lifetime Blessing/opportunity. Don't let this deal spoil it for you.

I am not familiar with Leroy Porter, but understand the concern. And I admit being "illegal" so to speak.
Prior to that night I never even saw Scofield and had no opinion of him, but what he and his crew displayed was ridiculous for the sport as a whole. All in all it just irritates me with the finger pointing..... the mr jerking off comment above was just retarded..... "don't throw stones when u are illegal too".... lol. everything he said was the opposite of any sense of a logical thought process.
(in a whiney bitch voice): "official....official....the 75 isn't wearing gloves....!"
meanwhile his boy is destroying cars and aiming for the official. lmao
I don't know the history (obviously is one) but the track owner/officials have a duty to control those types of situations for the safety of the fans/drivers/crews. they failed miserably. the seriousness in the class I get, but how many of us do this for a living? or ever will? and at what point is enough enough? maybe when a hot head kills a child in the pits, or runs over an official, or kills another driver, due to these type of actions it will register and they will take action. tempers will flare but this ordeal could have been avoided.
I consider it a great opportunity, and have always wanted to be able to do this, I've went through hell and back to get here. I also love the sport and hate to see people hurt or dead from things that could have been avoided. I just think Dorer and Scofield should have been sent home until they could co-exist.
While the glove saga and the who dumped who narrative are interesting............THEY THREW THE CHECKERED, INTERVIEWED THE WINNER, AND THEN DECIDED TO RUN MORE LAPS????????? OMG. Only at Auburndale during a FUPS ( what a dumb name for a series ) race would you get to see rules making on the run.
For next year Mr. Chadwick, please do yourself a favor and contact Desoto to put on your race.
Take it with a grain of salt buddy. What happened at A-dale saturday night was the biggest boatload of crap I have ever witnessed at a racetrack BAR NONE.I wont even get into the discussion about who bumped who and who dumped who because anyone with a set of eyes saw it.What Rex Guy did as a track owner was appalling. What Scoffield did when leaving the track was nothing short of criminal and if any cop were to see ANY ONE of us do that out on a public roadway we would be in jail awaiting a hearing as I type this. How in the hell do you wave a checker flag, and then start on track interviews and then butt in during them and THEN announce wait a minute now we are going to finish the last 3 laps we were supposed to in the beginning? Incredible.Black eye for Florida racing, black eye for stock car racing as a whole.Jessica Murphy got shafted, and not in a good way.Dorer got shafted.even if you are the mindset that he started it,he still got shafted. And the guy in the white #177 got shafted. Its funny he was the only car left running that could actually run with Scoffield at the end of the race but A-dale is so blind it took twice of Scoffield dumping him at the end and finally they waved a black flag on him AFTER THE RACE TOOK ITS FINAL CHECKER,then Scoffield takes aim on the tail end of Bennetts car as Bruce was going into the backstretch pitgate, narrowly missing it and then turns his wrath on the pit gate worker and swerves towards him entering the pit gate. And all of this is okay Rex? Really?Consider it a blessing you blew a head gasket as it night have saved you your entire car.Jimmy Castlebury 2nd Mario Maresca 3rd,whats the matter Jeff you dont want to fight with senior citizens or is it you knew they didnt have a snowballs chance in hell of outrunning you so you only took out guys that were at least as fast as you.
Yep, I could not believe they simply "called" the race, and I missed the last 3 laps--which apparently were even wilder than the first 97 (probably more like 197 including the laps that didn't count).
Props to Jimmy Castleberry, the guy has been a wheelman for decades.
Finally, where's Wayne Anderson when you need him?
Anderson got jerked off too, and won't support this group. Can't say as I blame him.
This track is out of control, and apparently so are too many of the racers. They could've had a good thing going there. Instead, it's Crash-A-Rama in a circle.
In Rex's defense he was super pissed in the pits about Scofield narrowly missing an official. I thought he was going to have a stroke/heart attack. Now I didn't agree with the way they handled everything else that night. Jeff should have been blacked flag for the whole Dorer incident. I think the car Scofield was in was the same car Wayne Anderson was driving when he got DQed for something in tech. I could be wrong tho. Even though the late model race was botched, there was some good racing Saturday night. Not a total loss
Escort you are correct on that being the same car Wayne was DQ in. If I remember right they wanted to tear the motor down, but the owner said it was a sealed motor so they didn't have to. I believe the owner of the 77 is a poster here on the board. I didn't see where anyone was angry about Jon Guy throwing a temper tantrum before parking the car. Funny part about that was when the announcer said the 42 parked it because of break problems. Crappiest excuse for a race I have ever seen.
