  • I just don't get it

This week I see 2 TRUCK RACES GOING HEAD TO HEAD with one another, both have really good purses also, I think 1 of them just got jacked up a little more, But what I don't understand is why there both going against each other, I no both owners and promoters and I would like to give you a little advice, not that it matters, you both better get yur head out of yur ,you no what because yur not doing nothing to help the truck racer this weekend at all, Instead of having back to back racing weekend for them you are forcing them to make a choice, you guys could have 25/ 30 truck fields, but no you have to play the power game, Hell if you have to race them both on the same night run one early the other later yur tracks are 30 min apart, I hope you guys can get it figured out, because at the end of the day yur only hurting the fans from seeing a good show when it could have been a great show, If you 2 want to eat lunch, I will buy, OK I'm done venting ya'll have a nice night

Yoho has a bad habit of scheduling on top of other tracks and then upping the purse. Ask him how well that worked out with his Florida Winged Sprint Championship, think he had 6 or 7 cars and Citrus had over 20

I didn't say anything about the trucks...I simply stated that him and Laplant were "two peas in a pod"

I can't fault Desoto for going to battle on this. A while back Desoto made the class move to resked a OWM date in order to not conflict with a big Showtime OWM event. What does Yoho do to reciprocate? Schedules a big Truck race on top of Desoto's first point race. How many times are you supposed to resked when it's a one way deal? Yoho's schedule may have shown a regular Truck event since the fall but some give and take would be nice. Desoto's schedule has been out nearly as long and Yoho's been known to add and delete events at the drop of a hat. I think both sides lose on this deal but Desoto will fare better. And besides, sometimes you have to stand your ground to prove a point.

Please don't forget Yoho also canceled a truck race so that it would not interfere with Desoto's earlier this year. Maybe instead of just getting the facts straight you could also post them all, not just the ones that agree with your opinion.

Yoho is an idiot...that's a known fact.

Sorry CC, I wasn't cherry picking the facts, I just wasn't aware that Yoho did that. Anywho, whatever spirit of cooperation that existed before is apparently gone. The bottom line is OWM 61 is dead on, the Truck competitors and fans are the losers on this deal. Can't see how these huge purses by both tracks can be met if you only draw 10 Trucks. Can someone tell me why we need 2 Truck series anyway? It's been hard to draw a full field with just one series. Oh yeah, it worked out real well for Champcar and Indycar. NOT!

I agree it's a loser deal for everyone. I got out of truck racing over this kind of crap, sucks for everyone involved. MiniRacer26 you are entitled to your opinion, I choose not to bash people like that over the internet.

That's an excellent question, why DOES Central Florida need two truck series. It can barely support one.
Desoto will draw the most trucks and the most fans. My question is, what's the Showtime property going to be used for next year? Cause at the rate he's going it isn't going to be a race track.

But lets say that Central Florida CAN support more than one truck series. Or SLM series. Or OWM series. I think it can. And i think each of these tracks can help build it up.
Of course that means that the Southern Pro Am Series better not spend every penny they have to put on this one race. And it looks like that's exactly what's happening. Desoto will always win a pissing contest because of the owners, the management, and the track itself. But if there are going to be 2 separate truck series, then give it a go and make it work. Just don't shoot everything you have on your first real race.

I'm here at Desoto and I believe there are 19 trucks here and more race cars pulling in as we speak.
