The only way that place would ever work. Would turn it back to dirt and that would be a BIG MAYBE. You are right it is not easy

adale vs. desoto on march 8th???

I just noticed that a-dale put there late model race on top of desoto's late model race for March 8th. So this kind of stuff is going to go on all year between all of the promoters in the state. If gary and jimmy put there dates out first, why should they move them?? Saying they should move there dates for the fans is wrong, they had the dates first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vince

Just because a schedule is the first posted does'nt mean that track owns that night, if thats the case start posting for the next years schedule now.'

Jimmy will always outdraw Rex, so the bigger and better car count will be at Desoto. Rex is starting to panic a bit I guess. But that just might be the way Florida short track racing will always go, dog eat dog, may the better track win. And it might prove to work out by forcing each track to up it's game, to offer bigger payouts, to make improvements to the tracks and the amenities, to have rules that make sense, etc.

Big competition between race tracks turns promoters into very creative minds.

Every where, there are tracks running over tracks, only so many days. Do your own thing, build your own local heros, make the place as fans, medias, and racers friendly as possible, good food,, price right, should be fine.

And quit relying on series, build your own show. That way, you won't be dependable of XYZ. You have enough to play with mother nature......without having to cope with this guy and this group(s) all of the time in order to make wothjwhile to open the gates.

Creativity is great, and can turn things around pretty damn fast sometimes.

                stick to your guns Gary

When a promoter puts out a schedule in Oct for the following year it can not get any better. Wasn't it yoyo who cut purses before? Citrus made a commitment to us sprinters for the first sat of every month and pays what he says..I will support citrus We have 3 sprint car races going on sat.Somebody knows how to screw up a good thing..Rehms set his schedule early too so everybody knows where to race.

Another p-----g contest that only leads to fans continuing to leave the grandstands. They, if nobody else does, get screwed every time one of these spats erupts and they have little interest of who said what to whom and when they said it. The average fan just wants to plunk down his money and see what he supposedly paid for -- a quality show with ENOUGH CARS TO MAKE IT INTERESTING.

There are too many other entertainment opportunities available to fans today. When the Florida weather warms up, A/C, which wasn't as widespread in the old days makes it even more tempting to stay home rather than take a chance of a"short" field of racers, because the cars are heading in 2 or 3 different directions come race night.

You'll still get mom, dad, the wife and kids, maybe the guy you work with. They'll show up to see "you", no matter how bad the show is, but in the long run, they're not enough to make up the track expenses and a decent purse. I'd like to think that it would change (around here) but I have my doubts.

Oh boy... We actually canceled citrus plans to go to showtime, now I feel bad..but I have family visiting over there, and we wanted to see this "big" race.

Gary, we already have the rest of the season set to drive to your track every first. We live in south Brevard, so its a trek for us either way.
                      We like your track.

I see this hurting you more than helping. This is what will happen to most fans, they will go to your race and when theres a low car count, they are going to say..."well, not going back to that race, they only had 5 sprints, what a joke"

When there is low car counts, people wont come back to spend their money until the car counts are back up.

                          He who is first wins

I have never been to a sprint race where there was only 5 cars... Citrus came up with WHAT EVERYBODY WANTED, Race dates so your can plan your season.Yoyo throwing in a date on top deserves to get his 10 car count. He will come up with excuses of why not to pay the purse due to car count, he has done it before. Support the track that supports you with race dates and a great show,

And right back to what we were talking about...tracks might just as well run their own shows, schedule their own classes, and if they happen to be the same date or show as someone elses' track, then so be it. Why not do their own deal, both tracks develop a sprint car class, a truck class, a super late class, etc. Citrus has always been able to draw a crowd, St. Pete damn sure has been able to over the years. So have it boys.

I'll support Yoho's track any day of the week of a Laplant ran Citrus. Robert has a good show, is fair to the drivers and isn't a crook.
