Is there going to be any sprint cars showing up with Showtime paying $5000 to win on the same night?

This is the kind of stuff that kills me.One track schelduls on top of another ie. CITRUS.The other Showtime has a great payout BUT you have to pay 150.00 tonenter race buy 2 tires and 20 gal. Of fuel wthell. There is what 35 40 hard top sprints in Florida.Maybe im wrong we will see, see if the tracks have balls to post finish results.

Yoho has been posting on Facebook what drivers are coming to his 75 lap race. So far some heavy hitters from in and out of state.

          Davey Hamilton
          Jo Jo Helberg
          Dave Steel
          Aaron Pierce
          Brian Gerster
          Johnny Giesler
          Joey Aguilar
          JJ Dutton
Jimmy Alvis Sr. (Yoho offered extra $1000 if he wins)
          Gilbertson
          DeCaire
          Sport Allen
          Swanson

          He also posted this announcement,

We at Showtime Speedway understand everyone's concern about the Sprint Car shows being booked on top on each other. With the commitment from Team Hamilton and some other out of state teams along with some of the top USAC teams this was the only weekend available for them. With that being said, a good month ago a local team reached out to Mr Butler and asked him to change their date and was told it was up to Gary LaPlant. I then called Gary and asked him about the possible date change and he told me that it was up to Mr Butler. At that point it appeared they didnt want to work with us and I had no choice but to move ahead with the show as scheduled. Thank you for your understanding and hope to see everyone this weekend for the best Winged Outlaw Sprint Car racing in the state of Florida. Also Team Hamilton and other's would of attend Citrus the week after, it just didn't work out. There will be Great racing at both Tracks so please go watch at either Track the show's will all be Good !

I was not going to say a word about htis matter till I read the post above and called Yoho on the matter this A.M and he hung up on me about this matter. Ctirus County Speedway Posted back in OCt 2013 that we would be running wingless sprint cars the first Sat of every month in 2014 Feb to Nov.

The comments that Robert Yoho made are not 100% right. Not even close. He did call me on this matter to cancel my race. My comment to him was how come you put a date on top of Citrus that was set back in Oct of 2013 when Mr Butler and I posted we were going to start the class for our track. Yoho told me to be honest when we decide to do this show and never thought about the wingless sprint or your race. Then Yoho went on explaining he has 26 car coming down and so on. I asked if that was the case why would you be worried about the cars I might have coming to Citrus. Yoho put the date on top of mine without even looking at other sprint races that night, my race was planned months before Yoho scheduled his. If anyone should have canceled the race it should have been Yoho. I was not going to say a word about this matter till I read MR Yoho's comments which are 100% not true!!!

What makes you think you own the "first Saturday" of every month in 2014? This time of year is the most busy for florida short track racing. If you would just work with everyone else a little it would all work out for everyone.

I will work with other tracks but if I have a date set months prior ahead why would another just put a date on top of him them ask them to change there date????? Yohoo know better then pull this then act like I was wrong.

Much as I don't normally like Yoho, he's secured some long-distance teams for this race and I can understand why he can't just move the schedule because someone asked him to.
It would be vastly better for the fans and drivers if the wingless race were able to be moved back 1 week. I understand Citrus is playing the "We were first" card, but sometimes playing kid games will bite you in the tail.

Two track owners embarrassing themselves on a message forum, no wonder Florida short track racing gets laughed at. I hope the Wingless Sprints are planning to drop both of you and go race at Desoto.

You have to buy 2 tires and 20 gals. of fuel ????? Why not just let the racers buy whatever tires and fuel they actually need?

The forcing of racers to buy tires and fuel they don't want or need is the subject of an article in Area Auto Racing News. I wasn't really familiar with this paper until I read thru it at Speedweeks, but they have some very good reporting in there.
According to the paper, the Bicknell Racing Products sponsored Modified Touring Series that's been up and running for over 20 years in PA and OH. has just had to sever their ties with the World Racing/Dirt Car people.
The Modified Touring Series said they did not receive Hoosier Tire money under the WRG deal with Hoosier. And WRG is strongarming all of it's affiliates into using only VP race gas because WRG has a contract with VP. I heard that was also happening in Florida. I haven't heard very much good about the gas, though I've heard racers complaining about the price. And there isn't a lot of other choice for tires besides Hoosier I guess. But these companies need to back off on forcing tracks and series to use only their products. The Modified Series was using Sunoco for 20 years, but they were forced into dropping them or going it alone.
How is this type of forced marketing benefiting racers and racing? Now I it looks like Yoho is forcing his racers to buy a lot of fuel and 2 tires or they don't race.
