    More to consider

There is more to consider than just the sprints, Showtime has several other classes running with large field of cars. they are paying 400 to win Street Stock on Friday and Sat. with a 300 bonus if you was to win Fri. and win from the rear on Sat. Now I know how slim the chances of that are but crazier things have happened. Thinking hard on converting three cars, had hoped we wouldnt have to.

Gary has a chance here to be a hero. If I were him, I'd get with Yoho and say "I'll delay MY show by a week, if you'll promote my event at YOUR track".

Fans & drivers would get 2 shows instead of 1, and Citrus get free advertising to people who are already Sprint car fans.

This is why you need just ONE sprint car sanctioning body in Florida. Tracks running their own events, except for one off specials, does it help? Sort term perhaps, maybe, who knows...long term...nope. I have watched this movie before.
BTW, show me where this really works anywhere (exception maybe Indiana which is a different world).

Correct...owners take note and "check your feelings" at the gate!

That's a pretty fantastic idea actually.

Let me get this right Citrus Speedway announced they will be running Sprint Cars every Saturday night form Feb to Nov in Oct 13 then posted there full Schedule in Nov 13 This gaurantee the Sprint Cars 10 months of racing like a series would do.

Now here comes another track Promoter Yoho books a date for March 1st In January 2014 then calls Me at the end of Jan and want me to Cancel my race for week in March and with a few days on FEB 1 Citrus had 26 car race.

Just a question so some of you really think I shoud should have just say yes to MR Yoho I will please you since you want to top race that i had on my Schedule months before you even before you thought about a Sprint car race in March. You really think I should have just gave in to Him?????
At this point why do we evey have a racing schedule for then any more??

Yoho and I did talk he expained to me he already had 20 to 25 coming from Ind to race and it would be a win for both track. I asked him well if you already have 20 to 25 coming why would you even need the any form my track????

Now really what should have happened is for Yoho to have looked at how many car I had within a few day of our conversation and say maybe I need to rethink my racing date for a week myself and work better with a Man that got 26 sprint cars to a track is sprint car first race as a new promoter instead of trying to cut my throat.

Just my thought on the mattter Place your self in my shoes what would you have done??? Remember some racers look at all the schedule and plan each week out for the year and I would have replaced at least two week of my Schedule to Please Mr Yoho putting a race on top on my race date.

Let go racing and have fun this great weekend coming up know matter where you go and be safe.

Got to love Florida Short Track Racing

Gary, I would not roll over, stick to your schedule, it may be light on car count because of what he scheduled on top of your race, but your consistency will out perform the competition in the long run.....Vince

Everyone races on Saturday night. what a conundrum.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

The fuel and tires is what the web site said plus 150.
Any time I see a track state you HAVE TO PURCHASE or YOU HAVE TO RACE ON theres a handshake with the repersentive of the fuel or tire company and others are getting money off the drivers back. That being said its a huge night of racing and all classes should have 20 or more cars with that payout.

Again,30 40 sprints in Florida.Dont see many going topless.
But well see the results Monday, once again If the tracks have the balls to post results.

Gary.... If I were you (granted I'm not), yes, I WOULD roll over. It's smarter to work WITH people, even if they are your competitor. You each have the same goals.. racers & fans.

The cars he has coming CAN'T just 'put it off for a week'.

You COULD. It's not gonna kill you... In fact, it could BENEFIT you. You are creating a battle of loyalties, and as strictly a fan... if I gotta choose, I'm going to St. Pete.

I'd prefer to hit both..... but you aren't leaving me, and a bunch of racers, a choice of supporting BOTH.

                            As The Racetrack Owner's Turns.............

Would make a FUNNY and SAD show about short track owners/renters in Florida.YOU ALL WOULD WATCH.

For all you who think it's so easy- Ellisville/Columbia is for lease, why don't you rent it out, set your schedule, open it up and show Gary and the rest of us how it's done. sheesh!

Every schedule for a track I have ever seen comes with this disclaimer..
                                "Subject to change"
