How Many Truck Series Do We Need???
With the addition of SPATS it will be in direct competition with Rick Bristol & Joey Coulter's FL Pro Truck Series. With the cooperation of FUPS, Bristol & Coulter FUPS released the trucks from the FUP Series so Bristol could gain more tracks and hopefully more competitors for 2014. Why didn't Bronson just host a race with Bristol? Once again, no one wants to work together!

searched for them and found this. http://driverseatracing.com/ And looks like their photo/video page is just stuff taken from other tracks.Last edited by ocalaisback3; 02-06-2014, 08:38 AM.

Almost anything would be a threat to Bristols' series, it hasn't really ever been successful despite many make overs. It always seems to be more about Bristol having his name out there than building the series.
I've always been a fan of the trucks, and I've been disappointed in their lack of growth in Florida. I'd be a little suspicious of this new group SPATS ( what a dumb name ) since from what I saw on their website it looks like they've gone to extraordinary lengths to keep the actual names of the owners/promoters of the series a secret. No names, no address, only a toll free number for contact.
I wonder if Jimmy Cope is going to put together a truck series at Desoto.

To be clear ….and always nice to hear from Mr. Albee
I want to say that we are all learning of this series in these last couple days. Joey and I are not in a war as that is part of the reason trucks fell of years ago with the Fascar/Fastruck deal. But we have put our deal together, with great cooperation from tracks and people. We were careful to work a schedule with dates already cooperated on by the tracks involved and to stay off others and for the most part we have accomplished that. We did not know about this, so not sure what the schedule is and where they may be going with exception of what we have heard some out of state racing. I have talked several times with Ann over the last year and a half but she chose not to run our saying the purse was to high. I simply say as track owners you can run your speedway (business) as you want, and I respect that. They will be running these races and I hope it works for them.
I will also address Mr Albees always encouraging comments of me by saying you seem to think I am this person who thinks so highly of myself, but those that truly know me know the truth. And to say that my series was never successful is a incorrect statement…..but to be clear I simply led a group of tracks, official and drivers to try to put together something in late 2011 with a triple crown, and then in 2012 with the FUPTS Series. The trucks were struggling to get 8-12 at tracks for even special races, the rules and costs were out of control so with the help of tracks, and friends and officials we worked to put together a series and develop and enforce rules and bring in the cost to create better competition. The series averages 20 trucks per race with 24 a high and 17 a low at season ending race. For you to say it was not successful, is pretty remarkable. But again all are entitled to their opinion. Our season ending banquet because of the efforts and help of many good people was talked about by many, including Joey Coulter who has been to some top series banquets, as one of the best banquets they had went to. So again the statement you makes is due to you personal apparent dislike for me….again think as you wish and remember is was not about me, it was a bunch of good people I was just the one who was privileged to lead it.
Now for the SPATS Series, I will say this that many people have called me today about the fact that the website does not list who is in charge and it shows photos's of drivers that did not give them permission to use their name/truck/photo as part of their series and they do not plan to be a part of it. I would say to them take them down and be respectful and call and ask if you can use them. I know a few that plan to get someone to do the speaking for them. You have posted videos that are not yours and I am sure you did not ask about, while that may not be illegal it does show a lack of respect for them, not asking them.
But Joey and I will clear we will forge ahead to try to make this series a value to the tracks, a fair and professional series for the drivers and some great racing for the fans. We do not plan to get caught up in war. We feel we have done out best to make this a great stepping stone for the future of racers here in Florida. We look forward to a great and fun series.
Thank you !Rick Bristol

Spats Trucks
Well said Mr. Bristol, Our race team was not aware of this new series or group, and definitely would have liked to be asked for permission to use our truck photos. It makes the public think we have some association with SPATS of which we do not!!
To be honest we were shell shocked. Strange turn of events!

There sure is a lot of I and Me in that statement Rick, as usual. No, "your" series ( as you like to refer to it ) has never been a success, but that's not due to the truck racers or the guys like Joey who have added their name to it over the years. There's just never been any cohesive organization around the trucks. Those guys have put on some great races, and with the right efforts, the trucks could be big in Florida.
The SPATS series ( what a dumb name ) doesn't have much info out there yet, so we'll have to see where this leads.

That's my truck, but don't know who they are
Don, you make me laugh...Like the series name.
You would think they would have made some big announcement and let us know who is running the series and teching, maybe the rules package. info type stuff. What are the payouts. To compete you must first be legit, anybody can build a website.
Those video and pics were of FUPS events...I find that funny.

Mr Albee you are an amazing fella !
Let me just say this, for someone who hides behind a key board you speak so boldly..ha ha. If I was not about to be dealing with some serious personal health issues I might waste my time for fun debating with you, but I do not want to waste any time. If I , oh excuse me how do I say that with out another I, hmmm oh well never mind. Keep hiding behind your keyboard giving you tips to success for all us all because, well we know you have been successful running a track, series or well at least you think you know all about it right ? Hmmm if we only knew who you were and what great track or series you have worked hard to run ….. well we may never know. Well, so in that case we probably should just let your hot air blow on by. I will give you credit you know how to make people want to just become your friend ..ha ha !Rick Bristol
