  • Middleburg Fla's Mark Whitener is another local that doesn't back down to, or for, anyone.

They have a big motor also and will be at a bunch of the Super Late shows as well.

    • Cecil Eunice has been around since his car looked like this in the late 70's/early 80's.

But he still wheels the crap out of them. He won the Limited Late portion about a month ago at Ocala. He even spent a few seasons on the Busch GN Series in the early 90's.

      • Will Thomas from PA has only been running dirt for 2 years..... But the name should sound familiar to NSS Speedweek fans. Will was the man to beat in the Pro Late class for a couple years.

His family goes way back in racing, as his father Bill Thomas was a big supporter along the career of Lou Blaney, father of Dave & Dale, grandfather to Ryan.

        • Tyler Clem, the son of track owner Bubba will be in his Crate this week.

My opinion of real young racers won't allow me to comment further ....

          • Since you won't I will. While I am a big fan of raw talent, there are multiple considerations to be made for youth in professional level racing. Younger than 16 the body from a physical standpoint is still developing and is not prepared to deal with severe injury without long range complications. The maturity that comes from past experiences is simply not there. Their involvement beyond the thrill of driving is minimal, they are not the wrench and they aren't paying the bills. The road for youth is clearly go karts quarter midgets and mini- sprints and legends. I have long worried about a catastrophic event involving youth and having our elected officials feeling that they can legislate the only solution. Beyond that I do have to admit that Kyle Larson is still the best on the horizon.

            • BRP facebook page said they had over 40 for practice tonight. They are expecting 70+ cars by tommorow night

              • Thanks EG.....

As much as I don't like young kids in full sized classes, there has been a few young kids showing a lot of talent & maturity. Chase Elliott, Erik Jones and Kyle Benjamin come to mind. Luckily none has really experienced 'the big one' yet, and if they do, I hope it doesn't end tragically.

Sorry about the Soap Box here... that's not my intent in this thread.

                • Jason Fitzgerald is entered, although I'm not sure what ride he will be in.

In my opinion, he was at his most potent driving the Murrell #7. I've seen this car win races at a few tracks, with at least 3 different drivers at the wheel. Jason, Mark Whitener, and Marylands Matt Miller.

Both the car & the driver know where Victory Lane is..!

                  • Josh Adkins is another unknown to me.... but I do know this: With the hometown of Talladega AL, he must have done a bunch of laps at The Hornets Nest, the Talladega Short Track.

If you've ever been there, you will respect the track & the competition there. The top racers there deserve respect anywhere they go from there.

                    • No stranger to traveling, Brasstown NC's Ray Cook is a threat to win any race he enters. Don't be surprised if he wins more than once this week.

                      • Bryan Bernhardt hasn't been at this for very long, but a steady progression has put him 1st at the line a few times in the last few years. I seem to recall a track championship for him, but can't recall if it was at East Bay or Ocala.

                            • If your an adrenaline junkie like me, Kyle Bronson will hook you up.

His balls out, keep-it-wide-open style is pretty rare. When you only hear 1 engine in the field, wide open & screaming, chances are its Kyle.

My new favorite in anything he hops into..!

                              • Could be wrong about this, but in the background of someone else's pic, I saw the rig of, I believe, Brandon Dewitt from GA. Don't hold my feet to the fire on this one...
