    Notes from Speed51:

Cody Coughlin has removed his car from the grid and the crew is working on the No. 1 car. Because the car was removed from impound, Coughlin will start the race at the rear and one lap down. He will not be eligible for the free pass in the first 25 laps of the race.

Governor Rick Scott's attendance tonight as the Grand Marshal marks just the second time in the history of the Florida Governor's Cup that a sitting Governor has been in attendance. Jeb Bush attended this event in 2001 as the sitting Governor.

The 07 of Scofield has withdrawn from the event, according to track officials. He was being penalized to the rear of the field at the start because his crew went to the car after qualifying. It was stated in the drivers meeting that no crew members could go to the car after the car made a qualifying attempt. According to track officials, Scofield's crew did so and instead of taking the penalty, Scofield has taken the car outside of the track and has gone to the trailer.

The 22 of Dusty Cornelius has also been penalized, according to officials, for the same reason as Scofield. His car remains in the impound line for the time being.

Seemed like I went to a hockey game last night with all the ridiculous penalty's. I understand there has to be some structure but they went overboard last night. Way too much interference to the point that they could've wrecked an otherwise great show.. Let them race.

Some nonsense in tech but 36 cars started racing promptly at 7:30. I like they got all the other stuff done ahead of time.
