Hey Todd Allen: I sent you the rules for Ellisville through Private Message to your account here on KARNAC. BTW, I think you would definitely have a shot at the checkers in this event. You were looking like the class of the field at the Sportsman 50 at New Smyrna earlier this year until you broke late in that event.

O.K. so Full Throttle Speedway has just changed their schedule for the 10/12 event and SPORTSMAN are NOT racing that night. So, how many of you Full Throttle guys are up for making the trip further up I-75 to Ellisville for this huge 75 Lap Sportsman event? In my opinion, the Full Throttle guys are the toughest weekly Sportsman racers in the entire state of Florida. Are you guys ready to prove it at Ellisville? Aaron and David Williamson, Michael Atwell, Roger Welch, Mark Peterson, James Dubose, Gary McFall and Josh Calvert, this means you. And to the rest of the guys all over the state (unless you are running for the top points at New Smyrna) everybody else is off so what's your excuse??? If you're in or know somebody else who in, post it here!

Scott, around what gear would i need up there with the crate? How many laps per gallon should I expect? I have a smaller fuel cell is why I ask. Also, will I be able to run my clutch up there? Would like to make it up there, but not sure if I can swing the trip yet. Josh

O.K., so let's get a few things clear. I am just a Sportsman racer. I do not work for Ellisville Speedway. I have, however, raced at Ellisville Speedway this year and I really like what I have seen up there. The Ford family has taken over the place and opened it up again. If not for them there would be no racing at the asphalt track in Lake City. They do not have deep pockets or big money supporters or sponsors. What they do have is a committed group of racers and supporters and are doing their best to make this place a success again. Part of that is guaranteeing the purses for big events like most racers like. Will it be the largest purse you have ever seen? No. But Xracer 54, if it's the bottom line alone that you worry about, then I would suggest you go to New Smyrna for their regular event and race the 5 or 6 cars 25 laps for $400 to win and $50 to start and save your gas money. For the rest of you who want to be part of a big event and the longest distance race of the year come to Ellisville. You won't be disappointed. I have asked for the full payout to post here and I was told they are working on it and it will be ready very soon. I will post it as soon as I get it. Like I said, I don't work for Ellisville Speedway. However, if you have any questions, here's how to get direct answers.
For Tech questions call "Grizz" at (352) 727-0508. This race is to be an "Ellisville Rules" event (rules posted on ellisvillespeedway.net). The rules are pretty much identical to Citrus and Bronson rules. I have been told that if you are outside of the rules that they will work with you and add a little weight. Any questions with this should be directed to Grizz.
For any other questions please call Robert Ford or the Ford family at the following numbers: (386) 725-8811, (386) 623-1370 and (386) 623-7701.
@ Josh (ss82): I have sent you a private message addressing your questions.
There has been a lot of buzz about this event in the Sportsman community in the past few days. From what I can tell, here is who will probably be running in this, The Biggest Sportsman Event of the Year:
Todd Allen
Shelton Bowers
Tommy Brakeman
Josh Calvert
Arthur Conquest
Craig Cuzzone
Scott Garrity
Jason Garver
Chris Harvey
Brian Hull
Cody Johnson
Wesley Keller
Kyle Maynard
Patrick Mennenga
Jeff Prescott
Greg Talley
Aaron Williamson
David Williamson
Josh Wise
Please note that all of these guys may not make it, but there will be others not on this list who will. Nonetheless, there will be a pretty stout field with most of the best Sportsman drivers in the state.

Could be a very naive, or stupid question to ask here, but every time I see things posted as 'bring what you got, and we'll add weight as needed'......
Is there any provision to 'reduce' weight? Why is it that cars that don't conform automatically have to ADD weight? There might be cars out there that might be competitive if they could LOSE a few pounds.....

All track rules have a minimum weight for a division. Sometimes weight is added for a rule deviation such as quick change where a 9' rear end is the rule.Originally posted by Frasson118 View PostCould be a very naive, or stupid question to ask here, but every time I see things posted as 'bring what you got, and we'll add weight as needed'......

E-mods have a minimum weight of 2500 lb. I have 50 lb added for roller rockers, because stamped rockers are the rule. I won't run a stamped rocker, too many failures and lost motors in the past.
A weight reduction is the rule in some classes for a crate motor though.
