  • Biggest Sportsman Race Of The Year!!!

Ellisville Speedway has just announced THE biggest event for Sportsman cars in Florida for 2013. On Saturday, October 12th there will be a 75 Lap Sportsman race paying a GUARANTEED $1100 TO WIN! This ought to be one hell of a race on the mad fast and tricky D shaped 1/2 mile oval. 75 Laps on the big 1/2 mile will seperate the Men from the boys. Are you up to the challenge? Can you keep your car under you for 75 laps without falling out of the seat? Can you manage your tires and still save something for the end? Can you simply handle going that fast for that long? If you've never raced at Ellisville or haven't in a long time here is the perfect opportunity for you to experience (or re-experience) how much fun it is to race at this unique facility in the biggest event for Sportsman this year. Pitting your hauler in the infield is also a major plus for a 75 lap event. A quick trip down pit road under yellow for a minor adjustment may be the winning move for a team in this event. Besides, it's just plain fun to be in the middle of the action all night long, even when you are not racing. So, who's gonna man up and go for the checkers in this grueling 75 lap contest with that hefty payday???

I just loaded them... Don't know the problem you are having. The rules were set up to basically match Citrus and Bronson so those cars could run up there.. What tracks you run now??

Same night as FTS is racing... hard to tow so much further with the uncertainty and not much difference in pay. FTS 45 min drive... ellisvile 3-3.5hrs

Must just be my computer. I have raced at New Smyrna a couple times this year. I've been considering a trip to bradenton as well. Just don't want to go anywhere to race 1 other car..

Hey Aaron. Congrats on the win the last time we raced and have y'all had that baby yet? I wouldn't expect you to miss a night at FTS with you leading the points there. Anyway, I was told that the reason they scheduled it on 10/12 was to not conflict with Bronson and Citrus AND Gator and 'Nole home games. Ellisville is right in between Tallahassee and Gainesville and they bleed football up there. It's kinda tough with a mostly support class like Sportsman to not conflict with somebody with every track in the state running Saturdays now. True, New Smyrna and Full Throttle are running Sportsman that night but those are probably the two furthest tracks from Ellisville. Hell, South Georgia Motorsports Park is only a little over an hour away from Ellisville. But for the guys a little closer, there is no uncertainty. They guarantee their purses and WILL pay the $1100 to win. The Ford family doesn't have the backing and resources that some other tracks with new owners have, but they are true to their word and are good people. It is only with their commitment that Ellisville is an operating racetrack and not another lost speedway. And to Todd: If you only race around here and there why not come up for this race? Have you ever raced Ellisville/Lake City/Columbia? It's an awesome and very unique racetrack. This race is 75 laps so you will get some serious seat time. This race will draw a good field of cars. Did I mention it's $1100 to win???

Hey Scott, SGMT is finished for the season as per announcement at Ellisville drivers meeting last week.
Todd, if only one other car shows up, you will at least finish 2nd on an $1100 to win race..
Based on past races, at least a dozen will be there for this one..

You will most likely have AT LEAST these guys competing:

                        Tim Alldredge
                        Shelton Bowers
                        Arthur Conquest
                        Scott Garrity
                        Jason Garver
                        Brian Hull
                        Wesley Keller
                        Cody Johnson
                        Kyle Maynard
                        Patrick Mennenga
                        Jeff Prescott
                        Greg Talley
                        Josh Wise

Plus whatever guys come over from Bronson, Citrus, South Georgia and the usual travelers.

Good luck finding an engine for your second car, Patrick. Looks like there is going to be open practice the Friday night before from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. for $10 per person. FREE overnight camping will also be permitted.
