Putting the info on Facebook and not the web site is pure lazy. Not everyone uses Facebook because of privacy issues. Information is the key for this track to survive. Even the phone recordings are too garbled to understand. Just my 2 cents worth from the stands.
I was in the pits jut as a spectator!! Will be there next week with the truck!! I really like the idea of heats also, 3 races for the price of 1!! Badass!!
Just checked the Speed World web site page (orlandospeedworld.org) for the schedule and all it says is Subject to change. Where can I find a schedule? Have they abandoned that site? Where can I find a schedule?
Web-site is being redone go to Orlando Speedworld on face book, schedules on their, scroll down to see them all
"I don't do Facebook". There are lots of people on here who won't try it, but I am a big fan of FB, and I know its the best way to get lots of information in a hurry. Remember regional racing newspapers? They are mostly gone. Track programs? Also a thing of the past at most tracks. Even websites are not the latest and greatest way to spread the word. Quit fighting against modern social media and jump on in! Its easy!
Hey Jimmy Mc. how do you feel about Orlando Speedworld now?
What's this supposed to mean? A cheap shot at my "Super Late Models" thread?
*Mehhh*. I would *love* to see the track survive - and get better. Iny my opinion, it *should* be one of the "raciest" tracks in the state. But, until the fans, race cars, and drivers start coming back, they'll be hurting.
Whether or not Jimbo tries anything *different*...we'll have to wait 'n see. My dad's been involved with (Super) Late Model racing in Florida since about, oh, 1974. We've seen *plenty* of race tracks come and go - and watched Orlando slowly die off in the early '80s until Nerone took it over. It came back to life, then; I'm sure it will rise again.
