  • FTS cancels TBARA scheduled event for 8-10-13

Due to unforeseen circumstances the management of Full Throttle Speedway was forced to cancel the TBARA Sprint car event slated for our re-opening night
    August 10, 2013.

We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. We're looking forward to
putting on a great show with all other scheduled divisions.

Bob they will not loose half the fans. Over the years the cost of bringing this event in vs. the butts put in the seats makes it usually a loosing proposistion. I have seen the numbers from several venues and it's a shame because the TBARA used to be one of the biggest draws in the day.

Good job by Showtime. Cars were ready to race, now they have a track to race at.

I have no idea what's going on with the politics with this right now. I'm wondering if, by going outlaw, the tracks are trying to circumvent a certain purse that TBARA requires. If that's the case, I wouldn't expect many, if any, of their cars. Maybe there's nothing going on politically, so it will be a success. I hope so.

The TBARA hasn't been the same since the internal overthrow a few years back. A few within the club ousted the existing management team with promises that things would get better for all.

              That didn't happen.

Now, when there should be a rebuilding period going on, the Club is still losing more dates than they pick up... and it sure doesn't help when cancelations like this keep coming up.

The Club and the track owners need to find a way to support each other. Not much use in owning a Sprint Car right now with no place to run them. I'm betting Yoho is counting on this, and throwing these guys pennies when they should be racing for dollars.

I'm probably wrong on this.... but it wouldn't be the FIRST time this happened in local racing.

                  select few

2 sprints showed up at Showtime.. Yoho WILL NOT COME CLOSE TO WHAT THEY WANT. THEY HAVE SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT AND CAN'T STOP THE BLEEDING.

                    Invite only

Seems Showtime was a invite only affair.Anybody know what 2 cars showed up for a dash for cash race?

Yoho said tonight that he is expecting 18 sprint cars for the 8/10 race.

18 would be about average for Showtime, so its reasonable to expect that.

TBARA site said that FTS would not sign there contract that means the track did not want to payout they requested purse. At least Showtime does not mind paying a decent purse and they put fans in the seats for these races. Until the other tracks step up and payout what they need to race on they will not get the following Showtime is getting. Yoho is giving the Sprints a place to race and making the racing better, do to everyone trying to beat Dave Steele.

I ran with the TBARA from when Don ran the show through the bull crap from all the promoters cutting the purse in half. A lot of owners that where the money behind the top teams have left do to the mismanagement of the club, and it was not just one person it was a group effort since Don was President.

                              My opinion.
