    Volusia

I , too went there, I called from Palm Coast about 5: 30 where it was raining, they said , no rain and they were running, about 1/2 way there down S.R. #11, rain stopped and got real sunny. Saw some trailors with Ga. plates going in. Stands were not very full, then soon as racing began, filled up a bit, races weren't too bad, I'd say as good or better than Bubba's and Putnam, plus the Sprint cars are why I go, and I wasn't a bit disappointed with the show, I sure liked the very short intermission, if there even was one, I used to go there when they tried Fri. nights, The show is getting better every time I go there. the added stands and drive in section between turns 1 and 2 might be why stands often look real empty?

Very true Jack. I was in the drive in section, and there were a LOT of people over there. The stands did look pretty empty, but overall the crowd wasn't bad at all.

Volusia and other dirt ovals in Fl.

That #18 flip happened so quick that I only caught the end of it, sad to see car so wrecked but glad to hear driver O.K. Dirt oval racing here in central Fl. is not anything like I grew up with, living in norf new jerkey, and able to travel only 55 miles to go to Middletown, N.Y., Flemington, N.J. and Nazareth, Pa., also only another hour put me at Reading, Pa. and Grandview, Pa. plus East Winsor, N.J. sadly I watched most of them die due to many factors. That's why I try to get out to a dirt oval in Central ,Fl. every chance I can, except when I'm racing my 2-cycle karts. Small car counts and low payouts along with different and unsteady rules are only the beginning, I hope to never see any more tracks close, but then I'm almost 75. I forgot some that have gone like, Pine Brook, Dover, Morristown in N.J. and Mok-A-Tek, in Pa. There are prolly a few more that I never got to regularly, sadly.
