A word of thanks and ideas for a new name

As everyone knows by now I was the high bidder on the track but still have got some things to get done and to the Airport before it is awarded to Me or Hasse Investments, LLC here in the near furture.


First of all thanks to all of you that called me. The Team Owners, Drivers, Sponsors, Race Fans, and people interested in becoming Staff Members of the Speedway. As you all have heard it's in very, very rough shape and I will need alot of help getting her back to being the Track that we can all be proud of. I have been involved with many Tracks (Auburndale, Citrus, Charlotte Speedway, Desoto, and as a Manager for Bobby at CCMP) for over 20 years. I also have been in the roll of a Racer, Team Owner, Series Owner "Out Law Street Stocks", Class Sponsor of division at Auburndale, and recently sponsorship support for Rick Bristol's New Truck Series. We have some business to get taken care of.

First I want to have a contest to rename American most Southern Short Track. So let's get it stared. Remended that the tracks that work together will have a better chance to survive these hard economic times.

I truly believe that everyone needs to have a vested interest in their Track. So feel free to call me.

Congratulations Gary, let's hope you get the contract.
As for a name, might I suggest two perfectly good ones that were thrown away. First, Sunshine Speedway. Next, Desoto Speedway. Think about it, neither are area sensitive and both names have a long tradition of tremendous racing. Just a thought.

Hurricane Speedway (Something Punta Gorda would rather forget)

Since Golden Gate and De Soto are not confusing enough, why not combine the names of two other area tracks? "Throttle Time".
