With summer shortly around the corner we thought it would be a good time to give everyone an update of the series. The principals of FUPS Racing are the track promoters and owners, if your track hosts a series race then you are part of FUPS Racing and have a say in all decisions. Currently the three principals are Mike Reed and Don Cretty from Citrus Co. and Rex Guy of Auburndale; we are very appreciative of their support for providing the tracks for FUPS.
The series director and promoter is Rick Williams with Shawn Reutimann our race director, Mike Rensberger, Mike Masey, & Jimmy Blake as our tech team. This is our team for all divisions, Trucks, Sportsman, OWM, SLM and Legends. All tech decisions, race calls, rules, etc. come from this group. We added the Trucks to our divisions after past Pro Truck Promoter Rick Bristol decided to step away to pursue more time with his family and church. We appreciate his hard work and time to make the Truck Series a premier event here in Florida and we are committed to carry that on with not only the trucks but all the FUPS divisions. We would like to remind all of our competitors that if you have a question, comment or concern that you would like to present please, e-mail or call one of our team Shawn, Mike or myself and we will listen.
We always encourage the FUPS competitors to support other tracks when not racing with the series; this will strengthen the FUPS brand by showing support. We still are having conversations with other tracks to add to the FUPS series possibly as early as later this season and we will continue to chase other venues for events. We wish success to all tracks and hope that we can hold FUPS events at all of them in the very near future.
We have tried different ideas this first half to make our series more “racer friendly”, have they all worked, No they haven’t but we tried. We will continue to try different things not only for the racers but the fans and track as well. Some stuff we will change for the next races in all divisions is re-starts; we will revert back to single file. This change comes after numerous calls, emails and tore up race cars. Although we feel that double file restarts puts on a better show for the fans it has been shown this year that on these short tracks it just tears up too much equipment. Another change will be “Tire Impound” for the SLM shows; we feel this is the only way to deter any altering of the tires. Tech in the Trucks & Sportsman will tighten up, read the rule, follow the rules, don’t bend the rules. If you try to beat the system be prepared to pay the consequences.
We have a very strong sponsor contingency with our partners, Sunoco, Hoosier, Racecar Engineering, Finish Line Fabrication, Progressive Race Engines, and Alan Jay Automotive Network making up the main contributing group for the points fund for all classes. Five Star Bodies, All-star Performance, AR Bodies, Bassett Wheels, Howe, Advance Suspension, AP Brakes, Auto Meter, Joes Racing Products, Rev Racing Valves, Hamner Racing Engines, Sweet, & Butler Built make up our race to race contingency sponsors. We ask that your support these companies when making a purchase.
We want to thank everyone who has competed with FUPS so far this season and all of the fans who have attended our races. We are committed to making the FL United Promoters Series one of the best series to have promoted events here in FL. We will continue to seek our venues for events for all divisions and grow the FUPS Brand. For more info on our series follow us at www.floridapromotersseries.com or like us on Facebook.

payout would be too large for a track to make any money running them all at one time. if the track does not make money, guess what, no track to run at.
