Fups, you dont need tire impound!!! You just need to inforce the rules, and read the tire durometer!! It is really that simple.. If you would have just thrown out the few that were soaking at citrus, the first race, this would not even be in question. If you dont want to loose car count, just make them start last if you catch them. Just my opinion....Joe

If you are a team that does not always purchase tires for each race and has older tires they plan on racing on, they will bring them to our tech director and they will be impounded as well. We are not saying you have to purchase tires! IT IS NOT THE INTENT TO DRIVE TEAMS AWAY but to keep everyone equal. We hear that tire impound keeps teams from racing and we hear that teams are soaking and we will not race against that. Well here it is boys & girls let's see who shows and who doesn't, your choice!

Thanks Rick, the idea that you don"t have to buy tires at the track is good idea. At other tracks, NSS and OSW tires had to be purchesed from track and impounded or you didn"t race.

I cant believe some of you think you can soak an old tire and get an extra 100 (competative) laps out of it.... This rule obviously isn't in place for the budget guy trying to stretch a dollar, cause I promise you, if your soaking 100 lap tires trying to race against new tires, nobody is going to accuse you of cheating because you'll be 10 laps down at the end of the race...

This rule is meant to stop the teams that are buying NEW tires, taking them home and soaking them. Some use agents that soften the rubber, others use agents that make it more durable and maybe not fall off like the others at the end of 100 laps...

          Checking tires?

You guys need to realize that durometer before a race will not catch the guy that puts the prep inside then runs it to spread it around, so you really should also check it after the race.

Rule called for real hard tire at both tracks, one track ran Hoosiers the other ran Goodyears, beat guys weekly with 3 and 4 night old tires. Mike if you wanted I could get the car to stick to the trailer. I'm just saying if done right you don't have to buy tires every week if they let you massage your tires

              chassis and mike

You guy's are both correct in what you are saying. I think Rick is just trying something that has worked in the past for other series to try and level the playing field. I know it will be tweaked a little to make it even better. You have to start somewhere. Give him a chance to see what is the best thing to do for the series and competitors. It will be better in the long haul!
