See there, it's working. You're paying close attention to the GoDaddy car.
She got lapped in a hurry, an evil handling race car for sure. And then damned if a bunch of other racers didn't get lapped also.
I seem to recall that she DID have good results at Texas in the Indy cars. Are you saying the announcers were wrong?

This week, I got the wave-around. We all forgot the race was on Saturday and never set a pool up. I was concentrating on racing Saturday night and wasn't paying attention to NASCAR all week. Yes, I got lucky....with Danica.....so to speak.

I was watching the leader , and the announcer said "And Danica goes a lap down" . I thought it was awfully early in the race so I glanced up at the lap counter and chuckled as I contemplated how I could harass Boneman for picking her again . But dang if he didn't weasel out of it by not having the pool this week . And no , the announcers were correct about her Texas Indy results but..... it just didn't carry over .

Yep, I got out of it using two proven strategies: innattention and neglect. I saved money too! It worked great!

Where is the next race? I know who I am betting on.

          Goooooo Danica!

Next race is in Kansas. She'll be in Missouri by lap 40.

              Missouri by lap 40?

She will still be backpeddling in the middle of a pack of cars on a texas interstate then.Hey Boneman, put her in that sprinter of yours and then maybe things will start to compute for her.She should never have been rushed into a stock car period.Open wheel "success" doesn't always translate over to true success in a big boxy stock car.Example Dave Blaney.Example #2,the late Kenny Irwin.Four more years maybe. But will the Danican't bandwagon stay fueled up that long?

I agree though. Wendell should be in the H.O.F.
P.S. I don't agree with diversity programs . I admire Wendell for doing it without "ANY" help and against all odds.

Didn't translate too well for Steve Kinser or Sammy Swindell either. For that matter, Jeff Gordon crashed out of something like 14 races in his rookie year. He eventually got the hang of NASCAR racing. She will too.

                      No,it certainly didn't Matt

Although to be fair to those two I don't remember their trial shot being all that lengthy either.Could be wrong about that but it seems like they split back to the open wheelers pretty quick. And don't get me wrong,I'm not saying she can't ever be good in a stock car but that time ain't now and won't be for at least the next two years.I think she could mirror Ricky Stenhouse's progress but it's took about 5 years and a lot of demolished race cars for him to win what, one race? Jack Roush has been incredibly patient with him but not everybody is.She may speed up the learning curve a little since her and her car owner speak the same champ car language. But she should have been given some late model experience first and then a FULL year in ARCA to help learn the cars AND the tracks. She was put so far behind the eight ball from the start it was incredible really.

Using Kinser & Swindell as examples isnt a fair comparison at all.

Kinser only had something like 7 starts, and that was in Kenny Bernsteins cars that NOBODY could run well with. He at least did win an IROC race against the top names of the day.

And Sammy has even less than 7.

To compare the opportunities between Steve, Sammy & Danica just isn't realistic.

That outstanding 42nd quickest qualifying lap last week was just pathetic. Other than Daytona, Talladega and the 2 road courses, she is tail end of the pack talent.

Kinser and Swindell are perfect examples of the trials and tribulations of open wheel drivers switching to NASCAR CUP. So is Sam Hornish. Not every driver handles the switch with ease like Tony did. And i'm not so sure Danica has a car that can run up front. On paper yes, but her team was only put together at the beginning of the year.
Tail end of the pack in talent? Naw, all the guys she finishes ahead of every week would get that award.
Daytona, Talladega, and both road courses. Most drivers would kill to be good at those tracks, and most aren't. You forgot her finish at Martinsville, so short tracks seem to be in favor as well.
She isn't the first big name driver to qualify at the rear, and certainly won't be the last.

At this point, someone will chime in and remind us that ANYBODY can drive on superspeedways, and that it is just like driving 80 mph on the interstate. Sorry, but I aint buying it. They are going very fast, very close and its a lot harder than some of us think.

lets all take a long ride on a short bus.

I quit fishing because no one was standing at the docks handing out money when i got back, why did you quit racing?
