  • Fontana race

I don't know about you but I am sick and tired of the Fox TV crew being shills for NASCARS Gen 6 car. They say that the teams simply haven't caught up with the new car. Well I for one hope they are right because what we saw today would mean that the drivers are what made this race a race. That was as exciting a finish as we have the right to hope for in a long distance race Vs a sprint or a dash. I am NOT a Loganno fan but I must admit that neither he or Hamlin was willing to lift or drive any differently. As soon as they got close together I thought Kyle might be in the right place. Tony was entitled to his tirade given the number of laps left when he was blocked.

Tony would have done the same thing if the positions were reversed. He got out foxed by a kid and pouted like a baby.

        I disagree

I think Fat Tony's a punk. He waited for his crew members to get there before he approached Logano (Joey was out of his car with a Coke when Fat Tony got to him with his entourage) and they both stopped at the same time. As for Fat Tony's crying about the block, it is the front guys line. And the apron was open. Quit complaining and get your cars better.

The usual mind numbing race from Fontana until the last 20 laps or so. Then it turned into one of the best NASCAR races in recent memory. Lot's of passing, lot's of cars in the mix for the win, lot's of surprises. Fontana gives away tens of thousands of free tickets so the stands are fairly full for the tv cameras. All those thousands of people who got in for free just might buy a ticket for the next one after that finish.
Blocking Tony was the least of the dumb moves by Logano today. The one thing that's held Joey back over the years is his lack of maturity. He's got the talent, just doesn't have the maturity to go with it. Gibbs tried for years and finally gave up on him.
The FOX team will shill for anyone who pays them. When you notice the FOX team not mentioning someone or something, it's a sure sign that they haven't been paid to yet. That goes for teams and sponsors.

I thought the race was one of the best I've seen from Fontana. There were multiple lanes and plenty of passing. I even saw the slingshot and slide job quite a few times, as well as passing and then the crossover move to pass back. The end of the race was exciting for sure. As for Joey blocking Tony, I didn't see anything wrong with it, particularly that close to the end. Any one of the drivers out there would have done the same thing. Logano and Hamlin's final incident was just two guys racing with neither having respect for the other. Neither was willing to settle for second. Isn't that what racing is supposed to be? Just hope Hamlin is alright.

All around great race with outstanding finish.

If they would have more of those, maybe people would come back to watch.

Just hope Hamlin is OK, not mine, but nobody wants to see somebody get hurt.

What race were you watching Matt? That race was great from the drop of the green flag. Winger's assessment pretty much nailed it. I can't see why Tony was so pissed when he faded to 22nd while Logano battled for the win, regardless of the block. I have no problem with the way anything went down but NASCAR will surely spank Joey on the pee-pee for his comments after the race that for Denny "He shouldn't have done that to me last week, that's what he gets". Joey doored Denny because that's the only way he was going to hold onto the win with Hamlin having the momentum on the outside. Getting fired from the 20 looks like the best thing that has ever happened to Logano. It's made him relevant. I usually don't even watch the California race because its ALWAYS a snoozefest. The new car is definitely racier there. Glad I had nothing to do on a rainy day.

NASCAR awarded Joey with 3rd place even though he caused the wreck? HUH??

A lot of hard racing but the comment Logano made about Hamlin going to the hospital "that's what he gets" may come back to haunt him. Total lack of concern and respect for an injured driver. I will agree with Stewart that Logano is a spoiled kid that hasn't had to earn anything yet.

I'm not a Joey Lagano fan, but is it possible his comment came before he knew Denny Hamlin got hurt ? He may have been talking about the bump and run and trading paint. I enjoyed the race, the best part was when Tony Stewart grabbed Lagano, haha, bet Lagano sheet in his pants. I also loved the girly overhead swing Lagano took at Tony from 3 feet way after they were pulled apart.

Tony sees the season slipping away with 14,39, & 10 not running that well so far this year, so any incident like today happens & he is going after anyone who pisses him off. Logano better watch if he is still in Stewart's cross hair by the July race at Daytona he may end up like Busch acouple of years ago flying towards the fence for blocking.
