yeah, I agree that Logano probably didn't know Hamlin was hurt. I think he meant wrecking is what he gets. besides, its very easy to say things in the heat of the moment!

DeMan, I don't recall seeing NASCAR penalize positions for causing a wreck. not common, anyway. fines later or something, maybe but not taking away a position.

I thought there was something in the rulebook that read if you were a part of the caution you were scored at the position you came back to speed at. Or something along those lines. I know FOX had him in 5th when they went off air.

I wondered how he was scored 3rd also then remembered Nascar scores the cars at the last scoring loop when there is a caution. I assume that's what they did.

I would assume they are saying the yellow was out, remember field is frozen when yellow comes out after the white. They didnt exactly show when the yellow came out because of all the other action.

Tony complaining about blocking, Daytona anyone? Tony blocked Waltrip and took out 2/3 of the field. He needs to shut his fat mouth.

There is a time to ride along and there is a time to go.If Logano would have pulled that on lap 5 Stewart would have a reason to bitch, but not at that point of the race. How is it all these guys his age and younger think everybody ahead of them late in the race should just move over and let them by? His job is to get the best finish he can.If I was Roger Penske and he wouldn't have tried to hold his position that late in the race it wouldn't be Tony Stewart he would have to worry about beating knots on his head.I'm not a Logano fan but he could have let Stewart get beside him and put him in the grass if he was trying to run him dirty. They used to call Rusty Wallace NASCARS crybaby well you see who scooped up the crown when he retired. He is the only guy I have ever seen be on the inside of somebody, deposit them in the outside wall and then blame the other guy for it happening. What gets me is how everyone in NASCAR seems to either kiss up to him or act like they are scared of him.He needs to back off the name calling stuff (even though he is kind of on the money about the rich kid stuff) and I think it will be interesting to see who will be slapped harder for the post race comments they made. But five will get you ten that it won't be Tony full of baloney.

I can't see why Tony was so pissed when he faded to 22nd while Logano battled for the win, regardless of the block. I have no problem with the way anything went down but NASCAR will surely spank Joey on the pee-pee for his comments after the race that for Denny "He shouldn't have done that to me last week, that's what he gets". Joey doored Denny because that's the only way he was going to hold onto the win with Hamlin having the momentum on the outside. Getting fired from the 20 looks like the best thing that has ever happened to Logano. It's made him relevant. I usually don't even watch the California race because its ALWAYS a snoozefest. The new car is definitely racier there. Glad I had nothing to do on a rainy day.
Great from the drop of the flag? Maybe compared to a FUPS race it was, but until the last 20 laps or so it was the usual boring Fontana.

This is one of the few things I will give NASCAR credit for. They have a long history of the fans leaving the track knowing the finishing order. Two of the notable exceptions happened in Florida, Daytona 1959 and Wendell Scott's win at Jacksonville.

I think Joey Logano is going to be the meat in the Stewart/Hamlin sandwich. Joey has every right to do what he did but he better be prepared to pay the price. These guys are only going to put up with his sh** for so long. I think stick boy has it coming to him.

Would like to have watched... but... the power went out in our neighborhood at 2:30 as the storm came in... Still out as of 7AM!! A jogger can cut wind running through our neighborhood and the power will go out for two days LOL... But I did end up with a nice set of golf clubs in my back yard that blew in from Bay Hill!!

I thought it was a real good race. Passing all day for the most part, like NASCAR used to be. Drivers didn't ride the whole race like they did a lot last year or so for points.

The last lap with Denny vs. Joey reminded me of:

                            Donnie Allison vs. Cale Yarborough,
                            Dale Earnhardt vs. Rusty Wallace,
                            David Pearson vs. Richard Petty,
                            Darrell Waltrip vs. Bobby Allison,
Dale Earnhardt vs. Bill Elliott etc etc

If Denny and Joey didn't have history together then the finished would have be Denny or Joey in victory lane…maybe, Kyle was coming fast on the high side.

NASCAR earlier years (before my time) had drivers that just raced each other harder/different and always will have that in NASCAR.

On the Tony thing, we all know Tony has blocked drivers in the pass and not just last year at Talladega. So I don’t think he has room to talk about that. And about the rich kid remakes, low blow to me. There has and always be rich kid in racing, and so, more power to them. I’ve heard Tony give Joey high praises so this “should” blow over. But I’ve been wrong before.

On Joey’s immaturity, well all the drivers are these days from time to time. Shot that’s been going on in NASCAR for every. They usually grow out of that, shit I’m still trying to do that myself at my age!

And I hope Denny get better soon! A compress spine will take alittle time to heal, so Denny will be out for alittle while. Hope not.

O and what Joey said about Denny, about getting what he deserved, that was before he knew Denny was hurt.

wow, nascar.com says no penalties. I figured there'd be something at least for Stewart's language in the interview and for the "fight", too.

I saw the no penalty release also. I don't think there needed to be a penalty but I don't think Keselowski should have been penalized either. It smacks of favoritism and inconsistencies.
ModelcarMan: I agree with your comments. Like I posted earlier, this race reminded me of the way it used to be to some extent. I like to see the hard racing also. I don't think Joey meant to wreck. I think he wanted to keep Hamlin from winning and if it took contact that's the way he was going to do it. Seems like Earnhardt and Terry Labonte did that at Bristol one year. Davey Allison got together with someone also, maybe Ernie Irvan, and crashed crossing the finish line. That took him out of the championship that year and I think he missed a few races. I might start watching Nascar some more if the other races are as good as this one was.
