I didn't know they made driver's suits in size "Pixie"
"So she should just give someone who is trying to force their way out a position?"
So the more macho thing to do is not lift and crash into someone else who may or may not have done something stupid and take the both of you out? Hmmmmmmm......
And I'm pretty sure crashing out was not how Briscoe wanted to spend the rest of the "biggest and most prestigious" race of the year either. Unless, of course, you think he strategically planned to take Tinkerbell out before she could mount her late race run for the checkers.
Actually I couldn't care less about who did what to whom at Indy. The race itself...hell the whole series, bores me to tears.
She did look pretty funny striding down pit lane......until the guy from the Indianapolis Secret Service showed up. I was waiting for him to pick her up by the scruff of her neck just to watch her itty bitty legs just keep pedaling away...........
That said........hooboy.....she IS a hottie. I'd keep her around just for the eye candy factor.
Or is that why she's here in the first place?Last edited by Osmosis Jones; 05-26-2008, 09:10 PM.

Dude tune in on Vhf instead of Uhf and you will see the picture better.
He ran into the side of her. I bet she never even saw him coming. Do you even comprehend how fast those cars accelerate?
That said I agree the racing is atrocious. Boring does not even explain the excitement one achieves watching a race.read my post in this thread. http://www.realracinusa.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=2437
If you can not get passed without the cars spinning out how can the series put on a race worth watching. That or Kanaan is panty waste for a driver.

46" of crystal clear HDTV, Dude.......
I saw it pretty clearly. It was in fact the ONLY thing I saw of the race as I was switching between the Hooters race from Lakeland (rerun) and New Yankee Workshop (love my DVR) to check out the HD coverage of the race. (new TV and all)
My comprehension exists on many levels....but are you telling me that other drivers (rookies and veterans) exiting their pit stalls is not a common hazard for the Indycar set? I believe even the Cup cars have to deal with that little inconvenience. And on that subject, judging by the way he spun his tires and kicked his ass end out into her path, my guess is he didn't comprehend how fast these cars acclerate either. But he did have to drive around the go kart that was pitting in front of him. Either way, intentional it wasn't. And like someone else pointed out, it's not like she never made/makes mistakes that have taken other people out of contention.
The way I saw it, with the caution out and all those cars on pit road at the same time, I gotta think I would give the cars pulling out of their stalls the widest berth I could. Just to be on the safe side and protect my own car.
Fast acceleration or not.

Danica Patrick
Boneman,
What if it was a 5 ft. tall 100lb. man. and he went and got in peoples face and even layed a hand on them. What would you do? Would you just let him knock the crap out of you or would you knock him on his a$$? Remember she has played the sexist card before and says that she wants to be treated as an equal. So I say treat her like an equal in all areas. If she wants to bow up like a man then treat her like one!

I am impressed!
Wow.. what a man!
I am impressed with your thoughts NOT.
Sure makes a man out of you (if you are a man) when you make statements like that.
Guess we were brought up differently. My parents taught me to NEVER hit a female (guess they didn't take into regards exceptions as you have mentioned)
I looked over all of your messages and see you are negative or have something ugly to say most of the time.
Are you unhappy with your life?
Do you have a life?
You hit a female here in Ga. You gonna walk real funny for a REAL long time.
And we don't care what she did/said or anything. A man should be a man and handle himself accordingly.

She was mad because Briscoe didn't read the Indy script about how she was supposed to win. She complained all race she didn't have the speed to pass. So racing through the pits to get past a car that was actually behind her on the track makes it all right. If not trying to win it with a crazy pass in the first corner on the first lap is wrong then why would one position in the pits be any different? I thought racing was about passing on the track!

here is your answer
Mr. roundtracker,
Here is what I would do. Since I am 11" taller and 100+ heavier, I would grab the hands of the midget woman who is attacking me. If I was good and mad, I'd pick her up on my shoulder and walk her back to her car. That would not hurt, and it would be humiliating enough to keep her away from me. It would also be darn funny.
Here is what I would never do. I would never hurt her in any way. For starters, I would feel like a looser if I hurt a woman of any size. On a more practical front, I would be viewed as the biggest a$$hole in the sport and would be a nationwide object of hate and scorn. I'd lose my ride and my future in racing. Maybe I could hang out with Tanya Harding.
So that is my answer RT. Would you really do anything different?
By the way: there was a night when I was in the pits and some idiot decided to stick his head in the window of my car and tell me what he thought while I was stapped in. I lost my temper and started throwing off belts so I could get out and strangle this clown, but I knew I couldn't swing on him because he had an arm in a sling. Again, I'd be viewed as a bully even though he needed to have his lip buttoned. As I was climbing out I decided that I would just drag his a$$ far from my pit area. I didn't catch him: he took off. Just as well...

No one else caught this???????Originally posted by HaudFan View PostTripper hit it on the head. It was a pit road accident and all she had to do was open her eyes and lift. Has she ever admitted she's made a mistake? Doubt it... I've never hit a woman, but I would have dotted her eye if she would have showed her @zz to me. She thinks she's entitled to everything. Why doesn't she ever go down to AJ Foyt's pit ? Why doesn't Danica go run USAC midgets for a couple seasons and see what racing is about...I feel sorry for Sarah Fisher.
#1. In Indy car racing there is one lane for once you are up to speed that you are required to merge into, and one lane for entering and exiting your pit NOT at the max pit speed. Danica was in the through pane and the driver that hit her came out of his pit straight at the through lane and hit her in the sidepod on the car. If she would have lifted the car behind her would have hit her. She was 100% in the right and the other driver was wrong.
#2. In your first comment you say "all she had to do was open her eyes and lift" speaking of Danica then you say you feel sorry for Sarah Fisher?? She drove at a slowing car for over 200 yards and drove right into him!! She Never slowed in any way and NEVER changed her line. ALL SHE had to do was open her eyes and she would have had NO problem seeing an issue in front of her.
At least Danica's accident hit her in the side, she did not drive an 1/8th mile straight into another car!

Yes, Fisher was slower. She moved out of the way for Kanaan. That's when Andretti and one of the Target cars took advantage to overtake Kanaan. However, Fisher got caught in Kanaan's spin. That's why I felt bad for Fisher. Not to mention she was racing on HER own MONEY... Yes, Danica was near Briscoe. Briscoe's car got sideways and Danica ran over him. And the reason I'm hard on Danica is because I don't think she's EARNED the right to drive an Indy car. Heck, Ovalracer your resume is better than her's! But I'm glad you had to resort to a character attack rather than try to persuade me that I'm WRONG!

Holy Smokes.....
A few observations about this whole thread:
First off, roundtracker never said HE would give her a beat down....he actually only wished one of the other drivers would give her the equal treatment they would any other driver who came into their pit looking for trouble. Then evryone jumped on him as if he was promoting violence against women. I don't believe that most men have the desire in their hearts to be involved in a situation where they might have to fight with a female. Maybe some do, but I hope it's a small percentage.
That said, and having worked as a Firefighter for close to 20 years and seen quite a few domestic disturbances in that time, I can tell you size has nothing to do with what kind of damage a person can do to another. Male or female. I've seen a 90lb. tasmanian devil of a woman leave a 250lb dude laying in a pool of his (and hers) blood while he waited for an ambulance. Of course I've seen it the other way too, sadly.
Heres the point. And my apologies to Round d round's idea of a Southern Gentleman's approach to the fairer sex. ( I'm a Georgian, too, btw) But ideals and manners aside, when a female crosses that line(first) and escalates a confrontation to a physical level......then she gets what she deserves. Either from another woman or a man.
Not all women are created equal and I've seen some who could hold their own in a biker brawl and without a stripsearch (and in some cases a DNA sample), you might not be able to distinguish their sex until you came to in the alley and your friends were making fun of you for getting beat up by a girl.
Now we move on to women and children racing cars against men. How many here will agree that a certain percentage of the fans will go to a race to see the crashes? If this were not true then Crasharamas, Figure-8's and demo derbies would not be so popular. Racing is a wheel to wheel, battle that pits not only car against car but driver against driver and crew against crew. And that's even before the possibility of a fight. And we all know it happens. It is inevitable. Happens at every little bullring all the way up to the Cup Superstars. How many times have you seen a rich 14 year old take out another car by overdriving and thought, "Man, somebody needs to whip that kids ass to get him thinking straight". or "Someone needs to put him in the fence once so he can see what he's doing to other folks". You get the picture, I hope. Sometimes that's just what is needed before someone learns the important lessons.
But now you have the women who "just want to be treated like equals" or the kids Dad who says, "He's just like any other driver out there". The thing is...they aren't. And nothing in the world will make them the same. So tell that to the guy who just got his 30k race car stuffed into the pit gate by "another driver" who made a boneheaded (no pun intended, Rex) move for the third time that year. He's gonna want somebody's ass on a platter. Who could blame him?
I've seen people whomped by tire irons for a lot less and seen others who could keep their cool and not get excited if they were on fire. Which one will you be when it happens to you? Not such an easy answer now, is it?
It's gonna happen. You know it will. Is it right when someone hits(punches or other physical act) another person? Of course not. But it happens in this sport. You cannot deny it. It is one of the things that inherently happens at a race track sooner or later. Haven't we all seen another driver turn another car into the infield? What would happen if that driver overcorrected and somehow came back on the track and hit the wall head on and was killed ala Dale Sr.? Then the video of the guy who dumped him just became the prosecution's primo evidence against him in his murder trial. That's the problem these days. We have people with lawyer's business cards in their back pockets (sorry ovalracer44) just waiting to file the next class action suit when they get their feelings hurt. Racing is dangerous and in my humble opinion, anybody who pulls over that wall to race has just accepted the fact that anything and everything that happens is circumstance. I know this is just my opinion and the real world doesn't work that way but I don't care. That's how I feel. Same with a guy who breaks his neck bungee jumping. He doesn't get to sue the state for not putting up a sign that said he could get hurt by jumping off a 200ft bridge holding onto a rubber band. We are responsible for our actions once we're adults.
Okay enough.......except maybe to reply to Ego that pit road speeds, even when accelerating, are still somewhat slower than being on the track and slowing down from full racing speed. Not that I don't think Sarah Fisher had time to avoid that car but just noting that your pit road argument didn't seem to make sense. Maybe I read it wrong. Plus....everyone acts like this Briscoe fella "drove" his car into Danica's. It looked to me like he spun the tires coming out of his box (like a lot of them seem to do) and the ass end driftied over into the lane she didn't want to move out of. (ya like how I threw that in there? lol) So at worst, I just think it was bad luck for the both of them. Maybe Indycar folks will widen pit lane now to make it even less dependant on skill.......
sorry so long....MLast edited by Osmosis Jones; 05-27-2008, 10:51 AM.

Oops...one more thing....
Since when did being a driver become a pre-requisite for posting on this board? I'm hoping that was a joke.....cuz, there's a guy I know on this board who has never driven a race car competitively but I would take his word as the gospel about a race or any incidence surrounding a race over most any other person on here.
Anyone know who I'm talking about?
It's the Frassonator himself. There ya go buddy, some wind up your skirt for ya.....lol
