I don't think he'll need to rent a very big hall for attendees, that's for sure.

        A phone booth should do!

I'm glad that John took all the advice, weighed it out, and completely ignored everything that was said. He just amazes me.

It just amazes me when promoters know racers dont have any money right now yet the expect people to buy motors and such to change rules. When that track closes he can look at the cause in the mirror.

Orlando and NSS is doing it to themselves with the mini stock division. Costs too much to race,

What is wrong with what he is proposing for the Modifieds?

It requires people with engines already in their cars to go out and spend another 5 grand to keep racing.

It seems to amaze me that you and frasson that don't race have all the ans. OK children there is over 20 cars sitting now If they wanted to run big motors where are they, did you read what I said maybe I didn't say they were not in stone, thats why we are having a meeting .

I could put 20 people in a room and ask if you would like coke or pepsi and after the smoke cleared 1/2 would say coke and the other 8 would say Ice tea,Stay behind the computer and don't support any track or meeting .I really hope to see you all their in two weeks. At least I am trying for a solution
someone has to take the first step.

John reread the thread.... you made the first step... they countered with TREADED TIRES and you come back with your engine rule.... LOOK at the screen. absorb it. LISTEN to what is being said.... and BREATH...

John after my last qoute on the other thread it went dead!!! So let me put it here!!
You run your track like the airlines. nice cheap ticket until you see all the attached fares....
With your Fuel/Tires/Slap fees..... now Motors from me....
Let me ask you this... make a bonus every week if your ZZ4 motor wins$1000.00.

I asked in my last post was this simple enough... if you want cars to come out from sitting then YOUR going to have to be the one to take it in the pants for the short term....
Waive some of these rudiculas fees and requirements to race on your track... Then when race's see it is economical to race at your facility they will come. But when your keeping up with the Nerones out there your just killing the racing in florida. JOHN I emplore you to go to the meeting with an open mind and not an agenda of pushing this 4800.00 motor down everyones throat. Please dont have that us verses them attitude becuase it doesnt help you nor the racer. Bottom line they need you and YOU need them so work it out.
P.S. By calling them children has probably drawn the line in the sandbox already!!!
How about being PT Barnum. Ben Dodge. Carl Merrill. Ed Yerrington
Instead of John Gotti. Paulie Peanuts. Sammy the Whatever

John your 2 rules, one about the motor and the other about the tires are in stone. If you had been reading the posts from people you would KNOW those two things just killed your try before you started. Just because you are a fan does mean you can't understand what a sport needs. Just like being an owner of a track or owner of a group of Series doesn't make you all knowing. It just makes you think you are. YOU should be going to that meeting with an understanding from that group of posts what to start with. And buying a motor from you and sticks are not in the fix to make it happen.

They are already taking the frist step at citrus and also talking about it at orlando and guess what it won't cost the racer no more then a set of tires that will last 5 to 6 races or more. Lets see buy a create motor at 4500 then buy the carb at 1000 so I'm at 5500 and still have to sell my motor that I have now or buy 4 treaded racing tires bolt them on and go have some fun and can compete or run up front with the big motors and save me atleast 2000 over a 5 or 6 week period this is going to be hard. This looks like another way for the track to make money on the drivers.

                          Skip,
I agree with you 100%. Running the soft slick tires will still put the people up front who can afford to buy 4 new tires every week. Now it will be necessary since the motors will be "equal". The only advantage one will have is putting new tires on. Heres an idea. How about the best driver runs up front. With treaded tires, you need to be able to drive the car since it doesnt hook up perfectly like it does with soft sticky slicks.

                          John,
I will not be able to attend this meeting since I still live up in Ohio. Since I am planning on moving back to the area for next season, how can I make it so my voice is heard at this meeting. I would love to talk to you about my ideas if you would be willing to listen. Maybe I will give you a ring at the track if you have time to listen to my ideas.

Thankyou for agreeing with me. I don't understand why and I'll included all the track promoters think by changing motors and still running on slicks will solve the problem. I guess they don't have the struggles of a normal working person. I honestly beleive that a treaded tire is the way to go. Then us as a racer don't have to spend anymore money which for the most part we don't have. I honestly think they the (promoters) don't listen not that I will be at the meeting desoto is a 3 hr. pull for me but I will never come if you go with create motors and then make me buy 4 new tires every race.

                              half of 20 equals 10, not 8.

i suppose it would be offensive if i pointed out that your example adds up about as well as your proposed rule package?

if you want to add crate/spec motors to your class you need to adjust the rules so that they are a competitive option, not a requirement.
