    Very good point.

This may come out harsh, it is not finger pointing or trying to single any tracks/owners out, but it seems that the facilities that flourish and progress probably have owners that have a majority of their wealth tied up in the track and it is in their long term interest to grow the BUSINESS. Key words being long term and business, they are focused on more than just what they are going to get at the gate the next week and nothing past that.

I am waiting for the "well if YOU think its so easy, you should open a track!" response... If I had the capital I would - maybe someday I will be in the position...

So John, you have seen everyones input here. Where do you stand now on your choices? You have alot of people on here asking for the treaded tires. Are you willing to give it a shot? How many modifieds have crate motors now??? I am guessing very few, and none have your crate motor. On the other hand, how many modifieds have any kind of motor (they all have some kind of motor). 4 new tires is easier to put on than a new motor. Are you brave enough to gamble and put the cars on treaded tires? Or are you going to isolate yourself with your own motors? Whats it going to be John, cause i may be moving back to Florida in time for next season and would love to race at Desoto again, but I will not be buying a new motor to do it.

Lets look at your statement and break it down:
Your ZZ4 Crate Motors=Dollars in your pocket
Your Goodyear Tires= Dollars in your pocket
        Your Fuel=Dollars in your pocket
Your Concrete Slab=Dollars in your pocket
And then pay out like is was 1985!!!

John this has nothing to do with giving back or managing or even helping out the modified community: Rather it is the same slight of hand trick people are used to you doing.....
Moneys tight or no one has money... So lets have them spend $4800.00 for a motor that comes from the track owner/promoter. Boy what a novel idea!!!
ALL THAT EQUALS MONEY MONEY MONEY!
Get serious you have seen what the current modified drivers want...
        Treaded Tires Treaded Tires

NOW will you take heed and listen or try to stuff your pockets with what little money they have.
Your right! your property! your track!
Be the one that helps racing in Florida and not one that helps kill it.
Besides..... when its all gone what have you accomplished.. If it was about money you would have sold before the housing market did what it did.
SO be that guy that helps the racer and not hurting them...

The idea of big motors and sticky tires are SPEED! I know because i kept moving up in classes until i couldn't afford it anymore so i backed down a class. i spend nothing now because i'm not racing, maybe permenantly. But it is noone's fault but instead my choice.

Does anyone remember the $1000 claimer motor speedway motors used to sell? it really hasn't been that long ago. go BACK to a tire rule, body, frame, ride height, etc and let everyone put whatever motor in they want. just put a hard tire on the cars and you wouldn't believe how many modifieds will come out of the shops and barns all over the state.

The big motor guys will still have theirs and smaller budget guys will have a shot at a top five if not better every night. what is now called a "junk yard motor" used to be what was in the front runners every week. I saw a track tear down a mod in the midwest because it had won 4 in a row and the heads weren't even a matched set! Not just casting #,s but cc's too.

          Just food for thought.

BTW......Eagletai pretty much covered all the bases.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.
