What will the payout be for the trucks at both events? How many laps on 9/1 race?

The PRO-TRUCKS race on 9/1 will be a standard 25 Lap Feature. Purse/Payout for that race is on the website under: Competition > Purse/Payouts.

I will check today on the Payout for the 75 Lap race and get back to you.

The MODIFIEDS had a practice earlier this year on 10" slicks and one special 50 Lap race. This will be another chance for the Mods to put on the big tires. As stated, we will use the information gathered from all these events, including car count, when looking forward in 2012 and for 2013.

Just go back to the 8 inch slicks and be done with it!!!!!! It isn't just bolting on the 10 inch tires. Requires more wheels ($$$$), different springs/shocks ($$$$), different gear ratio, and of course tires ($$$$) that cost more. And who wants to spend $1200 for another 1-2 time deal. And if you do go to it then you need to go to a aftermarket spindle with bigger bearings. Again $$$$.

you are right Dave . spending more money is not going to bring the car counts up I think all the mods /e-mods should be put back on the 8in slick. how many guys are wanting to run 10in tires because the ones I talk too in the past don"t want to run them . they dont want to spend more money .

Yea nogogame, you are probably right. But your are not the one paying the bills, especially when it comes to a major change. Do you even have a car?And yes I was one of the ones that was up for the 10 inch tires, but after doing it earlier in the year I'm not that all for it now. Like I said earlier there is a lot more to it than bolting them on. One other thing it's harder on the engine/drivetrain too. The extra rotating mass of the bigger/heavier wheels and tires does things like when we were on 8 inch slicks we run a 555/564 gear (NSS). With the 10 inch we had to drop down to a 599. And could have used a 604 gear. That much difference to turn the same RPM. Plus the brakes overheated too. Never had that problem before.

Dave when its bad at the track and nowone is coming they throw caution th the wind and shot in the dark..
I the track alwase does what the racer wants today there will never be a tommrow.
Changing the rules and payoff will not bring the cars. That will just coust more money. The ones that have the rims and tires or a pocket full of money will show and the other bunch with 8" tires and not a open bujet wont. Its a trade and no one wins.
Try dooing the same thing for a year and build cars one at a time.
Promote an idea. sell it then stay with it..

ya dave i do have a mod. have no problem with 8 in slicks either but if u remember the reason they went to the tread is everyone one complained they could only get 2 races on the 8 in slicks. ofcourse we now know the treads are no better. i just would like to c a tire we can get some races out of.

You never will, as long as the tracks are getting either the profits or kickbacks from tire sales. They don't WANT them to last.

Will you sell my forklift parts at your shop for free.No ill bet you mark them up also...DA!!!
If they make the tires last they are slow and the racer soaks them yhen complains
If they make them fast they wont last and the racer complains
If they make them wide big small tall the same thing happens.

Pick one and stay with it. make it like i did one time with the ruls book..Wont change for 2 years..and it didnt..saved every one money
Jerry its not alwase the tracks falt..

It's not the tracks job in the first place to even BE the tire dealer. Of course everyone selling a product deserves to make a profit, but it sucks when the tracks tell you what you HAVE to run, sets the pricing, and in many cases demanding a minimum amount you HAVE to buy from them.... well, that situation just sucks.

And as for kickbacks, are you denying that part of the negotiations to mandate a specific brand, is how much the tire company will pay the track for that contract? Either way, it comes out of the racers pocket, and goes back into the track.

The more tires sold at their track,'the more money THEY make. They don't WANT tires to last.... neither does the tire company. And nobody has the balls to say 'screw all that, we need tires that last a good while'. They are out there... but it won't happen because tire sales ARE a profit center for far too many tracks.

They bleed these racers dry, then wonder why they can't fill the pits...
