Wasn't able to get to Orlando this past Friday, but talked to Dad on Sunday.
Said they were having their best run since Scott (my brother) started driving, running second behind Allison. Told me that Emberson (the 30 car) was beatin' all over the rear bumper of Scott, and that Scott was giving the 30 all the room he needed on the outside to get by. "I guess the 30 got frustrated and dove inside" of Scott (according to Dad) and hit him in the left rear corner, spinning him out and causing a caution. Dad says that officials put Scott at the rear, saying that the 30 "was up to Scott's door and Scott should have given up the line, and he chopped the 30" and just let the 30 go. Apparently, there were tire marks on the left rear quarter panel, not the door, but Scott was still sent to the rear. He started passing cars again (granted, I guess there was less than 10 cars), worked back up a few spots, then was black-flagged for the fender rubbing the tire. He got back up to sixth.
I thought you were supposed to *race* someone for a position. If you're that much faster, you should be able to go to the outside and get around - like Scott was giving up that outside line, keeping the low side and giving the 30 plenty of room up top. If you get that frustrated that you have to just dump another driver to get around, maybe you need to rethink why you're in this hobby....LOLOLOLOL...
I've seen it all too many times over the many years I've been around the short tracks, and it certainly doesn't make me a fan of those drivers that have to "race" that way.
So, I really don't know what the official rules are at Speed World on who gets sent to the rear for causing a caution. But from what Dad told me, I don't think that the 30 should have kept his spot; he should have gone to the rear as well for actually causing the spin by my brother. I believe that if a driver who nails another driver in the quarter panel causing him to spin, *that* driver should also go to the rear, since he caused the first car to spin in the first place.
