I can cover the truck fuel and gate fee. And yes I do have someone drive the truck to the track for me. So if you can cover the rest, I"ll be there. How about to eliminate any problems let's all go to dual point distributers and a coil. No box. Can't cheat them up. The biggest problem, and I have heard it from a lot of people is the change in the middle of the season when a lot of them are struggling to get to the track now. Why couldn't it be done during the off season???? Do you really think this is the answer and all the cars will now flood into Speedworld and NSS??

Intelligence of most tracks rules
This issue shows the total lack of intelligence of most tracks concerning rules. If they had not been convinced by engine builders and high dollar racers the desperate need of high rpm ignitions and had never let racers move on to MSD, Accel, and the numerous other aftermarket ignitions costing in the $400 and up price ranges, MINUS the distributor and wires, then this issue they are trying to stop now would not be an issue. Most claimed the old OEM HEI units were only good for the 7000-7500 rpm range before getting weak. Geeeeee that is exactly what is needed to stop and solve the problem the tracks have currently on teching for the cheated up traction control and pill bypass technology in aftermarket ignitions and the higher $$$$ required RPM engines. As long as a racer is claiming they can not turn high enough rpm with and HEI then you know you have a governor on them which is what the majority of racers really need and want . The HEI distributor and 8" tires have a very limiting effect on any class of raced car. WHY I ask is this so complicated to decide on ? I used oem HEI units for over 30 years with only 2 failing at the track. That is generally fixed in 5 minutes with the replacement of a $20 module. What does it cost a racer to replace a bad MSD, Crane or any other aftermarket ignition they can not fix and can only buy a $400 replacement for ? A lot of racers do well if they make more money than that in a week from their job ! I generally see more MSD or such ignitions fail every night I am at the track than I ever had HEI units fail in all those years. I have plenty of wins and championships in my past to back their use up too so they are not unreliable junk that can not be used and depended on for reliability. Why does any person racing not making their living from it need to be running any engine they need to be turning over 7000 rpm really ! If your race a class you are making your living from then do not complain about any of the cost just run what you feel like. The reality is how many racers at any local track on most weekends are racing for a living ? Maybe .005% do. So who should the rules favor then ? High Performance HEI units are currently available to fit Chevy, Ford and Mopar engines and can be purchased complete minus wires new for $150 or less and far less if used ones from salvage yards are used. They only have 1 main power supply wire running to them so idiot proof to check in tech. Everything about them has to be contained inside of the distributor cap. If the tracks keep hearing their racers say their HEI will not work properly at the higher then 7000rpm range so they neeed a better ignition then you have exactly what you want for the majority of the racers. Kinda of a dumb as a rock solution to the most common of race problems of race engines allowed to turn to high of RPM constantly. How many regular racers can really afford that ? That is a big part of why fewer and fewer racers are at the track each weekend. They just can no longer afford the price to keep up with the RPM issue. How long will it take track management to figure this out ? The can of worms opened again so dig in !Iwyn

The world is always changing, and so is racing, It is called progress!!!! The late models have great rules, but sometimes the rules need to be updated. Other then different tracks running different weights, I dont think the rules have been changed in quite a while for the supers?? And now the whole state is on the same weights. Going back in time is not a real good solution to the problem.......It is a good call to update the the boxes!!!

The Florida United Promoters Series will not be requiring the Crane Ignition System for the series at this time. We will continue with our rules as they are and evaluate after the season is over in Dec.. It is not our intent to chase cars away with rule changes in the middle of the season.
As always our Rules & Purse at posted on our website with all other info about the series. www.floridaunitedpromoterslatemodelseries.com

Here is what I don't understand. No one has explained or shown how these Crane ignitions can’t be cheated up the same way. The answer might be no one has altered them because no one runs them. Is there a completely different architecture that doesn’t allow the altering somehow? I just don’t see how this will stop the cheating at least in the long term. It would be nice if they could explain exactly how the MSD boxes where being altered and how the Cranes can’t be altered that same way.

the real difference is. between all the tracks there are between 300 and 400 cars that are going to have to change boxes
300 x 399 = $119700
400 x 399 = $159600
tell me that is just good luck for crane
someone is getting a kickback and we have to pay for it
there is most likely more cars than that how many show up just for the snowball and the snowflake
